I never really ventured too far out of the big four and next small group (Death Angel, Exodus, Testament, Metal Church, etc.) of Thrash, but I was close to the epicenter of the Bay Area of Cali., so it was a part of my listening enjoyment. Keep in mind, I've never owned Bonded By Blood or The Legacy nor the great majority of albums on y'all's lists, so my pool is smaller. 1.Testament-Practice What You Preach (with a bullet, in my opinion, the 2nd greatest thrash album ever, behind only Rust In Peace and Chuck Billy has the Greatest Thrash voice of all-time.) 2. Metal Church-The Dark 3. Exodus-Fabulous Disaster 4. Death Angel-Frolic Through The Park 5. Testament-The New Order

Due to not knowing much past the big 4, I have to go with crossover bands. Around 86/87 had a lot of friends way more into thrash then me and the crossover bands were right in with the metal bands Exodus : Bonded by Blood (only metal band) Crumbsuckers : Life of Dreams Corrosion ofConformity:Animosity DRI: Dealing with It Agnostic Front: Cause for Alarm

Great picks from everyone, and definitely got me walking down memory lane. Going to trash shows in the bay area were great beer soaked years. If we were really lucky we'd have time to stop at The Record Vault before going to The Stone to see any number of local bands open for whoever was on tour. Stoked to see the shout out for both the Sodom and Destruction LPs, we played those to death in those daze. My top five: Razor- Violent Restitution, Carnivore- Retaliation, Sacrifice- Forward To Termination, Exodus - Bonded By Blood, and Kublai Kahn- Annihilation. And of course the already mentioned Death Angel, Voivod, Possessed, Whiplash etc. etc. Killer episode to all involved.

Good discussion - love Celtic Frost, Overkill, Exodus, Nuclear Assault, Voivod, and the English Dogs (check out "Where Legend Began"). Metal Church aren't typically thought of as a Thrash band (more power metal), but there are some thrashy songs on "The Dark" album such as "Psycho". Too bad that the production is a bit too slick for its own good. I also thought Agent Steel were pretty thrashy too, especially "Mad Locust Rising". The 80s was a great decade for Metal.

The classic Sweden and Switzerland mixup. An easy way to remember which country is which is if you remember that Switzerland is the country of skiing, chocolate and great metal and Sweden is the country of chocolate, skiing, and great metal. ;)
