5 Foraging Ideas for Parrots!

Other Cheap DIY Foraging toys are: -Crumble paper into a ball and put your birds' favorite treat inside so they have to dig it out. -Put treats inside a toilet paper roll and put shredded papers inside too. (If your bird is inexperienced you can cut the tube in half to make it easier for them to reach) -Fold paper over and over to make a shape and put seeds in the fold or holes. (You can search up how to make how to make paper stars for ex.) -You can tie straws together (preferably paper) and put seeds and shredded paper inside.

I made the foraging tray! I didn’t have crinkle paper, so I took a toy that I couldn’t use bc the birds were chewing on the thing it hanged from, and it had TONS of crinkle paper in it!

But at least I found out why my angel was so tired it was because his thyoid was high now he is ok

@@ElleAndTheBirds yes glad to see you with the amazing coummity.yes I would do anything for my angel.one time when I took my angel into the super market a guy comes up to me and tries to say that my angel is his bird,I told him that my angel has a mirco chip and he is registered to me as the owner he got scraed and runs away.when we take our birds outside we have to be careful because people always want to take birds.so if I go into the super market I always take another person with me.i guess I am alot like my mom that would do anything for her birds when my mom was alive and we were living at a apartment the apartment caught on fire and I helped my mom get all of her birds out of her apartment,my mom didn't want to leave the apartment with out the birds she was willing to sacrifice her life for birds and I am the same way as my mom was.they bring us so much joy.

Unfortunately I have a very hormonal budgie who will automatically nest WITH ANYTHING fluffy in a bowl or flat surface. My birds have there own really weird looking toys I make them...trust be they ain’t winning a toy beauty pageant...hence I usually buy a lot of puzzle toys. As soon as my bird room is set up then I’ll be working on filming. Do you like the cargo nets you have, I read reviews saying it smelled like gasoline 😖.

I have a kakariki parrot called Chester. I bought him the egg shaped one with holes in, it's made of a rubber which is pretty tough. I will buy him those other foraging toys too just to keep him on his toes! Great videos by the way, very helpful!

I have a hedgehog and recently rescued a baby starling (bird). They are both awesome. Hedgehog gets up when most people are going to or already are in bed. Just make sure you give him a few days to get to know you by associating with comfy nice things for him (Like dried or even live meal worms). Good luck and God bless 😊

Hi Elle, just curious, how often do you give your birds fruit and seeds for forraging please. Should I worry if my bird starts trying to or succeeds in eating some of the paper? I made a foraging toy out of a large piece of paper with my bird's favorite foods inside along with some holes cut into it so he could reach it (it was hanging as well). Some of the food was retrieved but he started nibbling at the paper instead of turning it around to get food on the other side. I started monitoring him whenever I had the ball in the cage but I was wondering if I even had to worry.
