This is how you REALLY lower scores. GUARANTEED to improve scores… do you agree? Comment below?
@JonoNZBoardGamer3 жыл бұрын
I agree. I haven't been playing for long, started out shooting 140-130. Worked hard on my short game and iron game and got down to almost breaking 100! Definitely saves shots, I more often than not take 3 or less shots to finish out the hole from where you are talking about. My problem currently is my long game as I often take 3 or 4 shots to get within the range of the green on longer holes :(. If I sort that out I reckon I could be playing bogey golf soon! Thanks for the tips/coaching as always. Your videos have really helped me to improve.

Yes! These tips will add value, especially the chipping from the rough. Lost several strokes in the first few rounds of the year when taking my 52 in those situations. Looking forward to getting around the practice green this week and trying my 60 on some chips. A real corker of a video!

This video should be the most viewed on the channel. But I bet people want to see the 300 yard drive videos instead of lowering scores. Alas. Great one Carter.

So true.. I often play with younger guys that just want to drive the green on a short par4 over the water and when they succeed they usually end up flubbing their basic chip and 2-3 putting. for hackers like most of us It's all about the short game and getting up and down after a bad tee shot (and there's many!)... I've seen it first hand playing with better players.. when they are having a bad driving day they still get up and down while I don't.
@Trumpeconomy3 жыл бұрын
No it's because we all practice these shots that I don't need to see somebody else do them again I've watched a 100 different videos on the subject

@@Trumpeconomy Yeah but seeing 100 videos and actually practicing what they preach is two different things..

@@Trumpeconomy interesting perspective. it would be surprising to me if all of KZbin practices these shots. That you do makes you a bit of an anomaly I would bet.

BEST golf content on the WEB !!! Amazing video's sir. Knowledge but the way you bring it, explain it , humble with humor and experience. My favorite golf channel. Greets and hope to see a lot more of your video's. From a beginner golfer who has learned a lot from your content.

keeping things simple - great advice andy... you should never apologise for the bad ones though - its what makes the advice more valuable as its grounding over the art of real rather than the 'dream' shots people aspire to match......

As Man, I’m so sorry. I watched this three times yesterday but every time I went to comment, something popped up. This is excellent. Hands down. I’ve said it before, you straightened out my Short-game, with help from Matty Fry. I connected with all of these shots in the video. My club face is square in the bunker. I try to master multiple shots with one or two clubs. I’m brushing the turf. I know longer feel uncomfortable when I miss a green, I’m actually excited to show off my Short-game now. That’s huge. I no longer look for the safest shot, I look for the best shot. It’s liberating. I say all of this to say this, thanks Andy. 😎🥂

Great work as always, Andy! I appreciate you leaving the not-great shots in, because it shows that with these shot techniques, even poor execution gets you on the green putting - vs riskier shot selections that have a miss hit over the green or still in the bunker.

Andy fairway bunkers are my nemesis. I have never figured out how to hit the ball first and always come up short. Could you do a video on that someday please…..I guess I should go through your playlist to see if you already covered it lol.150- 180 yds would be ideal

Love it round the green and these tips are very good BUT how about Chipping off sopping wet winter grass on top of soggy mud. 25 mile an hour winds didn't affect the chips but the ground was slippery, shifting under foot. Help!?

Can’t relate 😂 my advice…. Don’t play, go to the pub, have a beer and watch golf on tv in sunny places 😂😂

Totally agree with the adding distance not yielding lower scores for most amateurs. Being able to pitch or chip on to the green in one stroke from within 50 yards is going to drop nearly everyone's scores significantly. What would you say is the next big step after mastering this 3 strokes from 50 yards out (pitch/chip plus 2 putts)?
@andycartergolf2 жыл бұрын
Yes absolutely, inside 50yards is key and that’s for all golfers

I’m not sure for newer golfers, but based on strokes gained stats, isn’t around the green literally the least important part of the game?
@andycartergolf2 жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t go that far. It can literally destroy some peoples games!
@harm0ny62 жыл бұрын
@@andycartergolf I just meant statistically speaking. Doesn’t it go in order of importance strokes gained: approach, then off the tee and putting are roughly the same, then last is around the green?

Andy for me that would be fine but I expect more from you sorry Tony

Pulling your head isn't a myth you just don't understand what it means pulling your head means I'm looking for where the ball is going to land before I hit the ball. So you're standing over the ball you're about to make connection before you actually hit the ball see it leave your club face you look up that's what pulling your head is that's what we mean it isn't a myth It's trying to see where the ball lands before you hit it doesn't mean I pull my head up 5" it means I don't watch the ball thank you
@andycartergolf3 жыл бұрын
No golfer subconsciously looks for the ball before youve hit it 😂😂 You don’t have time! Poor technique allows you to hide behind that idea! Its a kop out.
