I am proud of myself for walking away from a career where I wasn’t being given a better role, where they didn’t utilize my skills, and where I felt like if I had stayed, I’d NEVER have an ability to advance and grow. It was super hard because the employees and the family owned company are all very wonderful people. I walked away almost a month ago, crying, scared, hurt, but also relieved. Luckily for me, I have a very loving and supportive husband who completely understood my decision. I am happy to say that I start a new job tomorrow! I’m not going to lie, I’m a little nervous, mostly afraid I won’t enjoy this new career change, or that I may fail at it. I’m 53 years old, so this is very hard for me to change careers this late in life. But….. I am proud of myself for having enough strength, courage, and determination to at least TRY. ❤️❤️

One thing I'm proud of--and this is a NEWER habit--is doing my workouts (*my* workouts, not the fitness classes I teach at the gym) at the location of my gym that has a walking track on the second floor and walking 1/2 mile to a mile before my workout--that way, I am starting my day getting steps in. That only encourages me to keep moving throughout the day, even if the rest of the day I am putzing around the house...

I'm proud of myself for being an advocate for my health by insisting to be referred to a Endocrinologist and being diagnosed with insulin resistance and Type 2 diabetes last September. I did have to take Metformin because my body does not allow insulin from my pancreas into my cells to properly rid my body of sugar instead of storing it. Because I found out why I wasn't losing weight even though I was working out and eating healthy, I have been able to lose over 15 pounds. If you are a small person, but most of your weight is in your belly, I highly encourage you to see an Endocrinologist and take a glucose tolerance test. ❤
