I can’t say enough good things about Rich and his video presentations on the iPad. His economy and clarity of speech are remarkable. His demeanor and organization of presentation are exemplary. Apple should hire him as an ambassador for the iPad. I would like to seem branch out and give us instructions on the I watch. Most of what’s out there on the I watch could use his elucidation and pleasant demeanor….

OT I'm 85 and realize that most seniors are not totally comfortable with digital devices so you are doing great service. I've used a computer since the old Tandy TRS 80 Model II--but most haven't and likely don't follow tech forums or youtube channels like I do so this is really helpful--and none of us can be aware of everything available--or reviews. Thanks

You're more than welcome. My law partner had a Tandy TRS 80 when I first started practicing. It had a learning curve but once you were over the hump it was way better than a typewriter. I loved that Tandy!

Yikes! I remember doing data entry in a hospital, taking a disc, that needed 2 hands to carry, to the computer at Princeton. Also remember the hospital administrator asking to be warned when I printed more than 25 feet of reports because ceiling dust often fell onto his desk downstairs. Every once in awhile, I’d accidentally put a comma in the entry. This was programmed to erase everything. I learned to back my work up. Ahh. The good old days, huh?

Said I would report on the Runelk keyboard that is much like the Apple Magic Keyboard--for $107. Got it today, easy to pair, doesn't seem any heavier than my Magic though I didn't weigh it (Have 2021 Ipad Pro 12.9). I would prefer a bit more angle to the floating screen (I use in my lap as I do with laptop), knew it was BT so must charge USBC as well as Ipad (which I had been charging from USBc port on Magic) and the space key has a bit of a sound to it though rest of keys are pretty silent. No lag to typing and I'm a fairly fast touch typist and trackpad seems quite accurate and you can set for click--I tend not to use trackpad on the keyboard though I really like my Apple when I use my big Logitech MX keyboard). Has a full row of function keys. All in all, a very good alternative to Magic keyboard.

I bought the Logitech combo touch in January for my new 9th gen. I’ve never had a case or keyboard that makes me “happy” each time use it.(In fact, I find it silly to say that.) I use my iPad a lot more than I expected. It’s my entertainment, newspaper, mobile library, research center, post office, amazing camera, photo album, therapeutic writing center, mental exerciser, grandmother bragging center, distraction for my son, as he recovers, after his aquatic therapy sessions. The way the case and keyboard separate so easily; The rich texture of the case that feels good and sturdy; the sturdiness; I was concerned that having to pull it apart often, when opening, would damage the edges. Amazingly, eight months later . . . not a scratch, mark, or bend in edges. I enjoy the satisfying feel of the keys as I type. The mousepad was actually the tie-breaker when I was choosing a cover. Everything else is just a pleasant surprise. At my age, I don’t buy many gadgets that really impress me, so this is a big deal to me. I usually like my #2 computer w/ delete device on one end and reboots by squeezing it in on the side. It fits in my purse or my pocket. The output end does wear down often but refills are cheap. . . it has no internal “memory” but it interfaces well w/ my left phalanges when pressed on blue-lined white pages. 😉 Over the past two decades,I’ve had my iPhones, still have my first bulky old iPad, gave my (now teenage) little grandbabies my old iPods, etc. but usually, a case is a case. This one’s the 1960’s meaning of “cool” to me. Hmm. Sounds like customer a review for an online store, doesn’t it? Sorry.

I've made a couple of videos on the Apple Pencil but not on the Apple Pencil Pro. I've been playing with it regularly to make sure I can make a good video. Since different Apple Pencils go with different iPads, I just don't think you can go wrong getting the pencil that matches your iPad.

For me it's all about being able to peel it off and get back to the crystal clear screen. But I'm not a fan of how the pencil feels on glass so the ESR screen protector sort of bridges the gap well.

I have had the Apple keyboard and your point about size is good---I use the Logitech MX when I use a keyboard but my preference is the Magic as I've said---and when I upgrade my Pr0 12.9 I will upgrade my Magic. When you mention charging the Ipad through the keyboard---I charge mine almost exclusively through the keyboard rather than the Ipad port. I'm going to check out the Greenlaw since my M on my Magic is giving me issues and I'm not ready to upgrade my Ipad Pro (2021). And I totally agree with the Samsung external drive--but being a photographer, I have long used external drives and this is one of the handiest--small, large storage and was thrilled when I could use an external with the Ipad (think it might have been Ipad OS 13).
@RichBowlin3 ай бұрын
Yes. If you're a photographer, an external drive is a must. And the Samsung T7 hits the sweet spot for price and size (at least for me). Thanks so much for watching!

The Lulu stands shown for the 11 inches, appear to have "space for easy removal" when in the landscape mode, however, it appears to be "flush" on portrait...perhaps I am just not seeing it, because you appear to use your iPad in landscape exclusively? I loved the Logitech keyboard case. I just gave mine to my son-in-law. And yes, it's like manufacturers stop making stuff for anything older. You almost have to get your accessories at the time you get your iPad and just hang on to them.

@@doloresdew Guessing you and Rich are talking about photos from Apple photos. I have found that you can save to Files and then if you have the drive connected to your Ipad you can save to that drive from within Files (you would choose the drive over on the left under locations). I am very organized with both photos from my various cameras and Iphone within my Photos,--that probably comes from years with Adobe Lightroom LOL. So--today to see how I would copy an album to my drive--there are more hoops to jump through--I selected all within an album but it would not copy them to the drive. Under options on the save to Files/harddrive I chose to allow it to copy all formats, etc (that's not exactly the wording but you will see it when you choose options). That saved 468 files, several different formats, to a folder I created in Files/harddrive--and actually pretty quickly. Your mileage may differ however---never want to say it will work for you but its worth a try.

I have several stands like you (have had Ipads since the original and now use a 12.9 Pro) but mine both have lips at bottom and I just drop Ipad on them and pick up---have small one in kitchen for MIni and large in room I use when I use Ipad on stand with large keyboard and trackpad but my favorite accessory is my keyboard case (I use a lot on my lap as I've used my laptop) and its the only one I've found that allows me to type and use pencil so easily in my lap)

I have an iPad Air with the M1 chip. I purchased the Apple keyboard for it. I like this combination, but the total weight is a negative as I travel a lot and it weighs as much or more than my MacBook Air. I had hoped the iPad Air could replace my laptop, but it fell short in managing my music needs in GarageBand. Don’t get me wrong, GarageBand for iOS is a powerful program, buy it’s incompatible with the OS version.
