Thank you for this video, it was exactly what I needed to watch today. We INFP's are so often talked over, underestimated, or just flat-out ignored because of our non-extroverted quirks that it can make us wonder if we have any use at all in society. It was nice to watch a video reminding INFP's that we actually have a lot to contribute!

The problem is, a lot of the extraverted folks cannot seem to make any sense of us and so apparently tend to be dismissive. Add that being a Feeler is oftentimes perceived as weakness, you know where that stems from. Last week, I hated my personality. I hated myself and I hated being an Infp. I started doing shadow work last week, did you know our shadow side is estj? I began focusing on intuition and tried to use to over my feelings like an infj or am entp... the results were astounding. I recommend any infps out here to try to be more extroverted and use your intuition more! I am practicing using my inuition to guide me when I do have to make fast decisions and using inuition to feel people out while I talk to them. Any infps that think they are shy and awkward, understand that you are an NF personality type and that makes us extremely charismatic and extremely charming effortlessly (inuitively). Just get out there, face the world and do things, say stuff... you would be surprised the things that come out of your mouth when you just trust your inuition. And I also dont believe any of us are limited by our personalility type. Intuition is everything, when you focus your inuition on spatial information and sensory information you can become really good at driving (while your still focused) and etc... I honestly believe NF types and especially NT types can be any type of person we want to be because of our strong use of inuition. Next part is just learning to control your feelings... so important as an inf... we can control our feelings, we can make ourselves feel good on command and can also become completely ice cold if we have to. That makes us awesome people to cohabitate with because we are catalysts of feelings. Go around a store just feeling GOOD and try to make everyone else feel that same emotion and omg, you find some powere there I am rambling
@radioheadphonez4 жыл бұрын
I also noticed a lot of my problems in life was just me accepting bad feelings. I had no idea how much feeling I had inside so something like shame or guilt... fear, loneliness and anger can just cripple me. Now that I can recognize these bad feelings I stop, address is and start feeling good, feeling confident, feelings secure. And then it spreads like a wildfire. Now I love my personality type. But I don't think we are locked into any unwanted behavioral patterns either

Firstly: Thank you so much. I recently foun this whole teminology of "INFP" and suddenly the doors slam open and there's tons of people thinking and feeling and acting just like me. It's amazing. And it's simply fun to confirm these things and for once not only guess but actually know that I'm "normal" within our kind :'D Or to confirm that me wondering about the reasns of so manny cummunication problems going on around me and me feeling like "the normal person" amongs people struggling with bad hearing, being deaf, blindness or color blindness. To speak in pictures. Always perceiving so much and needing many years to understand that it's neither the norm nor within the concept of others as a possibility. For I constantly seem to be doing and saying "impossible" and "odd" things in "unusual" ways with that trail of "having to explain my logic, because confused ppl around are very likely to get to a very 'odd' conclusion of what I'm doing and for what possible reason"....which is often dragging at my feet. Take that wonderful example you gave. It starts at "Explain why you'd even consider looking further than the blame game and the betrayal" and I'd be like .... (°_°) "How will you move on into any direction and be OK if you don't?" and "But it'll only repeat eventually if you don't learn now, so why not....now?". (T-T) Thinking about it.........I sure had high expectations of myself back when I started to get into the world of jobs. How could I expect myself to work at the mad speed of others when even just explaining my route of decision making to superiors take a while (until we figure it's no use assuming, we just gotta talk and ask questions as situations appear). Secondly: I love your voice and language so much. It's like balm to my ears. From the content down to the wording, the "painting pictures" type of examples, the sound, the atmosphere, the connected way of communicating with your audience. Splendid! Thirdly: This goes to my collection of useful links to share with people around me who can't make sense out of me but should have a chance for basics for we're stuck with each other for a reason or another ;D

Speaking of supporting the unpopular belief in the workplace. I lost my job because I stood up for people in a workplace where the owner of the company would threaten peoples job's on a daily basis ("if you don't do this I will fire you", "I've increased your workload by 50% and if you don't like it or say something, you can look for another job"). Everybody was miserable working for him and wouldn't do anything about it because it had became the norm. He literally worked a guy to death (through his cancer treatment). I stood up against him and ultimately lost my job because he had too much protection being the company owner but I wouldn't have done it any other way and I have no regrets. I'm now in a company where the owners appreciate their staff and people feel a lot more inclined to do extra work for them without feeling miserable. So that point really hit home with me because I now represent the workers union in my workplace to defend those that can't defend themselves

My intuition and day dreaming is so good at prediction it scares me. I hate telling people I told you so, I just offer support. But, I will definitely say the TRUTH/RIGHT over everything. I think I don't want to work with someone so bad is because, they have a hard time understanding us. And, I'm not willing to open up what I think or my ideas. Idk I'm so complicated it confuses me, I often dream about how it feels to not be so NF. Then I hate when someone feels like I don't understand. Please believe that im overthinking everything, and using my intuition on advice that was asked of me. I'm constantly dreaming of scenarios, memories, ideas etc. I just KNOW/FEEL even if I haven't been through it. Hence why I ask for more information on whatever the issue or topics are. I don't know why but, I just know.

I always felt like this oddball. Was in several leadership positions because I was given and sometimes because I wanted to get there. But left those positions to pursue personal peace and calm. After lots of research on why I am doing this, I found out in my notes from my MBA that I was an INFP. At that point in time, I was like I can be anything I want to be. But that came with a cost. I was burnt-out, depressed after going through several paths. Now I am taking it seriously that INFP is a thing. It's my personality and I should use it for my own good rather than trying to fit in the social norms (Be a leader, be a go-getter, earn more money, status, show that you are a strong man). I am taking a break for a couple of months and playing the role of stay-at-home dad. My wife understands but the rest of everyone looks like I am a weirdo, who gives up on things and searching for something that doesn't exist in this world. I am searching for more meaningful, scalable work that suits my personality. I am leaning towards coaching ( life or career coaching). Any INFP in those professions? If so what are the pros and cons you saw?

Omg!! This is all true, I am an INFP and an artist. I have found that I am a magnet for narcissists is this normal? I was in a relationship with a narcissist, so unfortunate but he was a musician and he to put me down he would tell me that the world doesn't care what I feel and that's why I don't have any followers, and whenever I posted something he would say...you only have 12 likes, why would you post that? But you're right, we post things we believe in and don't care much about popularity.

Lex Morningstar Could you possibly make a video about how to talk to ESTJs as an INFP and how to get them to actually listen to what you have to say,instead of always being interrupted mid-sentence when you're trying to tell them what they want/need to know,what you would think they would need to know,or just simply trying to enthusiastically share something nice/fun with them? My Gran is the ESTJ (me being the INFP granddaughter),and it sometimes feels as if she just doesn't WANT to truly understand me (despite me being interested in and knowing a lot about psychology)
@venelprince68894 жыл бұрын
Speaking from personal experience, do not waste your time with close minded estjs. Especially an old one. They’re not interested in new lifestyles. Estjs like to stick to what they already know. They tend to see suggestions as insults, to their capabilities as a human being. Plus you would be the last person to take advice from, because your gran sees you as a immature child no matter what age you really are, hence why she rudely cuts you off mid sentence, simple because as an infp you most likely talk softly with long pauses. They fail to realize you talk softly so that you don’t drone out your heart/intuition as you speak as it is a subtle quiet whisper. And the reason you talk slowly is to deeply think of the bigger picture as you speak. Plus as an infp you probably have a baby 👶 face lol. They see you as incompetent which is their own loss.

As an INFP 9w8 I kinda value both. I grew up with an ISTP so my subconcious really developed really quickly that at time I questioned my INFPness but no according to my childhood emotional & thought process memories I was definitely INFP even got an EMO phase to prove that lol (half joke). But what was different was that as an 9w8, when I was a child I would have bursts of evil agressions or thoughts & now I have that under control. I had opposing thoughts on things take for example the sensory world, i would completely value too much about people's statuses & material wealth & that will come in an intense conflict with the humblistic & charity driven nature I had. Best way I can describe it is as two different people living inside me (no this is not DID just to clear that up) one goody two shoes trying to agressivley rebel, push, & persuade people to do the right thing vs an evil entity trying to play good & the angel in situations for example. I would have people asking me what should they do if they're sick of following other people in a general situation let's say. The very caring side of me (my masochistic Fi) would say like "idk just do you if you truly feel it's going to work out then do" (clearly knowing they're attached so they'll keep that certain situation going till they get hurt that's me wishing they do till they learn their lesson) & the other side of me will say "drop them, cut them out, don't come to me if these answers are obvious please" (usually I just feel apathy towards them but trying to give them direct advice just so I could get the issue solved despite my wording because I truly do care after all) I was like that during childhood as well mostly because I was hard on myself as well & that's one of my values that I probably value the most ever since I could remember anything.

That's my favorite thing about the combination of two people strong in Ne and Ni. Ne gives Ni more to work with and Ni tends to come up with the absolute answer. It's fun and it feels like speaking different dialects of the same language.

I'm an INFP, and I felt insulted by a social media app that matched people by compatible MBTI types. That just seemed so exclusionary to me. Why should I not give someone a chance because someone told me that their MBTI type would be incompatible to me? Sometimes, I hate being this much of an INFP.

9:08 Weird, in another channel I just said that it may be that when introverted women cheat it may because they have no idea how to get out of a relationship. It's not really a defense of the behavior, just an explanation that may hold someone back from just assuming the person is evil. It's better to believe something like this anyway, so that people learn not to take things as personal and can move on. The downside of this is that looking for reasons that people do things can make you sympathetic to abusers... which is why our category likely sees the most abuse. We understand more about the human condition and feel for those who simply "see red" when they get angry and accept it as a limitation. It's actually sad to think of an abuser living life without a meaningful relationship because without our type, they will never find it. Listening to Johnny Depp fight with his ex reminded me so much of my first ltr.
