Making one of these print on demand mistakes could severely lower your chances of making sales, or worse, your shop could be taken down! Always be sure to check out the trademarks for certain phrases or images you are about to list on your site. And make sure you are taking care of the customer journey, always responding to reviews, and looking for any possible issues that might come up that you can handle.
Also be sure to offer a wide range of products once you have a handle on something like t-shirts or hoodies. Just because one person might want it on a shirt, doesn't mean everyone will, so think about putting the same design on a sticker or mug.
Be sure to do your research and checkout how your competitors are pricing their products, because you don't want to price too high or too low. Pricing too low will result in super thin margins, and barely any profit, whereas pricing too high could result in no sales at all. So make sure the quality and price are fair for both you and the customer. And with regards to quality, make sure you are always using high resolution images, especially if you are printing a full picture. You don't want your customer to receive something low res when they are expecting a super clean graphic tee!

YES! I had some holiday designs featuring the *hippie van* and *bug* shapes taken down. NO mention or image of any brands or logos anywhere in the listings or tags. I found out from the company TM division. It BLOWS my mind because there are hundreds of these available as elements on Kittl and other design sites. Not to mention, thousands of listings on Etsy, some even showing the company logo. Of course, I took all related designs down immediately. Lesson learned, but SO frustrating that I can buy those types of things in big box stores and all over the internet. I had no idea the company had a TM on the actual SHAPE of the vehicles. Hoping this info helps out someone else since I see tons of cute designs featuring them daily!! Can't be too careful. It's NOT worth it if it is going to cost you your entire shop.

@@meghandiehl5563 Yes exactly. Certain POD shops, as well as Etsy and others will take these designs down immediately, and the use-case is extremely important to consider. But it can happen to anyone!

Sure thing! And not all gaming controllers will give you issues, so long as they are not extremely similar, or a 1 for 1 replica of a Playstation or Nintendo controller. If it is a vague controller design, many times it is okay, but it is always best to be on the safe side!
