Thanks! I'm going to try some puffers and bluefish. I used to go fishing on Oak Island every Memorial Day weekend but not now. I'm sure it's very busy now. Holden, Oak Island and Carolina Beach was much more calm 20 years ago.

I wouldn't put anything past Davis Canal especially after a storm. Saw a nice Jack Crevalle caught and a huge Tarpon jumped in front of us last year!

That’s true. I had a pod of dolphins swim past my kayak while fishing Davis. Scared the crap out of me.

It’s real slow right now. However, we might have a few warm days this week. Maybe that will help. Use the freshest bait you can get.

I don’t usually target flounder specifically, more like I catch them by accident fishing for something else. When I do, it’s usually on live minnows or soft plastics. I know a lot of guys that do target flounder love bucktails so I’d give that a go. Keep in my flounder is catch and release only right now.
