I'm in my early 40s . I met this guy online. We started chatting every day for over 3 weeks and he suggested we meet . We agreed on when and where to meet. 3 days before the date he went mute. I waited until the day before our suggested date with hopes he would text but nothing. So I just forgot about him. A week later he texted me saying he was sorry, that he had to travel and only got back. I did not respond to him because I thought it was so rude and insensitive of him not considering informing me about his "travelling " before he travelled so that I didn't have to wonder what had gone wrong.

I love 💕 Helena! I love the advice! It’s just that it seems like women always have to be super “understanding” to our mental and emotional detriment. Our standards for men are so low, that as women, we’re still over functioning (having to account for insensitive and selfish behavior) just so we can have a man in our life. All young people need to be taught basic dating etiquette, so as they mature, they understand basic rules of decency, like effectively communicating their thoughts and feelings, including the need for space. Women shouldn’t have to compensate this much for men’s lack of understanding on what we need as women. *sigh*
@HelenaHartCoaching3 жыл бұрын
Hi Aletha, I actually believe that you should never tolerate bad behavior. Your first priority should be taking care of yourself and putting your OWN heart first - so if you feel that you’re being “understanding“ to your own mental or emotional detriment, that’s a BIG clue that you’re with the wrong man (it’s also a huge attraction killer in relationships). Hope that clarifies things! My latest video on five things high-value women never do with men should be helpful: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d2K1qYNuba-nq5o

He did the first one over a week ago. Very open, warm conversations. It had been going really well for awhile. Then said he was going to call me back, & hasn’t since. He got distant, only responds with short & direct messages, but stalks my Facebook stories... So I decided to just not engage too much anymore. I’ve messaged him twice since right before Christmas & right after, but I won’t be initiating anymore convos. We haven’t had any fights or drama. The communication “distancing” is just odd in how it’s played out, since he’s still technically watching me on social media, but not saying anything... I did the “...😝” awhile back & it was confusing/funny to him lol

Hi Helena, thank you for the great video! If you are searching for a possible next video topic I have suggestions: I found myself having troubles to actually lean back and step into feminine energy - thanks to all the videos you did I am stepping in this energy easier now. But being in the feminine energy does not only mean to lean back, it also means to appreciate what a man does, right? But, I recognized that it is not easy for me to communicate appreciation (finding the right words, gestures, etc). I think when I try to appreciate my boyfriend I rather sound like a mom appreciating her child. Or, out of the fear that I don’t appreciate enough, I can tend to appreciate too much or too „intense“ (in my view). Maybe you can show us ways or inspirations on how to appreciate a partner. I think this would be helpful to many of us 🤗😊

It was going great and we hit the first bump of energy lost and I acted far too masculine … and it backfired. Then he came back around a year later and I was feeling more in my power and stated well I am not an escort ( because he was coming back with sexual vibes ) so you can ask me on a date and we can talk about closure or try again . I was so proud of myself and then he didn’t ask me on a date in the time I thought he should … two weeks. So I booped his nose with a friendly text … he send back more I am with friends … so I spun out and was like okay I am seeing someone new but wanted to see how you are …: not proud ( and not seeing anyone 😂) but it was like nah dog wrong answer

Two weeks into online dating, he has not video chat or made a coffee date. Today he told me he would video chat later and it’s now 10 pm and nothing! I have done nothing and refrained from email or message him! Perfect timing as I am so disappointed! I wrote a letter in word to let off steam ! . In the letter I phrased 2questions . 1.Ask yourself this question do you make mum, daughter, friend and work a priority? If you answer yes to all the above then I am not the woman for you! 2. If you tried 3 times to make plans with me three times, and I never showed up, how would this make you feel? Should I send this after a few days? His excuse tomorrow will be he fell asleep or he got busy! Omg I’m so not an an option!
@HelenaHartCoaching3 жыл бұрын
If he’s flaked three times I would simply drop him and move on - he’s showing you very clearly that this isn’t a priority to him and there’s no need to continue putting any energy into this at all, in my opinion. 💜

@absolutely1013 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I love seeing the sisterly love between you two! So regarding the man completely disengaging before commitment: He is 47 and I'm..yeah..65. he came after me. 6 weeks in I kinda had a mini breakdown, a convergence of personal events in October and finding out his opposite political views made me very scared. He tried to listen but just blew up and walked out and called me ignorant. I didn't allow name calling and he apologized but still was angry and pulled away for almost 3 weeks. We were friendly but really never got back to romance. More difficult is he has life goals and works till he drops leaving no energy to devote to himself or us so we gave up. He's already coming back around, curious and missing my company. He would have to make major changes for any relationship to work. How do I handle it/ enforce my boundaries if he starts working his way back in? I need like a whole course book lecture etc on handling boundaries. I love this man very much.

@@selfhealersdiary Thank you so much! I made and allowed a little warm contact after Christmas (he brought me a small present) and I will on new years to my small 2 hour gathering if he's around. I am being warm and not shutting him out for the holidays, I think that would be a mistake. But I am going about my own path and counseling /healing... No idea what he is going to do for himself, if anything. I just gotta let that go unless he makes a romantic move, then I gotta figure out how to handle that. Right now... Focus forward! I’ve been talking to this guy online for the past couple weeks. The first week he seem very initiative and messages me everyday, but this week I’ve yet heard from him for a day until I message him to check on how’s his day. I don’t want to wait on a guy but I also don’t want to assume he’s not interested because I want to move forward into meeting up. I’m wondering if this convo is just getting dry?
@HelenaHartCoaching3 жыл бұрын
I always say it’s not “real” until you’ve actually met in person and things are moving forward, so I wouldn’t give this situation any weight in your mind at all until that happens. You can always let him know that you’re interested in talking on the phone or meeting up sometime, and I wouldn’t continue to be his “text buddy” after that. If he doesn’t move things forward, he’s showing you that he’s a time-waster and it’s good to know that right away! This video should give you some ideas on what you can say when you’re ready to do that (and make sure you’re keeping your energy open to other men in the meantime!): kzbin.info/www/bejne/j5XZo3SHhL9obMk

Thank you so much for these helpful advise. My bf is does not communicate much, he’s more of a doer than talker, however, if I don’t initiate the convo, I wouldn’t hear from hear as well. He works in a ship and comes back every 3-4 weeks. he told me he’s coming back last week, asked me about my plans and i asked him back, he said ‘no plans babe’ , i tried to suggest him a welcome dinner, then he said ‘we will see about that as im stuck with payment for my house’, i just said ok no pressure, I’ll let u settle yourself first. He said ok babe, I didn’t reply after that and it’s been 1 week and he hasn’t updated me whether he’s back or not nor check up on me. I don’t know if I should reach out again or let him be and wait for him to msg me. So confused really 😭 We used to meet whenever he comes back from the ship but last week, he just told me he’s coming back but didn’t really do any plans nor ask to see me.

Yesterday was the end of the two weeks but he hasn't said anything? Should I wait for him to text me or should I contact him since the 2 weeks have passed?

I texted him and he said he was ok but was out. I think he is trying to cope with the death in his family. Do i not msg again and when he does reach out, what do I say in return.

How do you react to the guy that just said he wants to be with you than doesn’t initiate any message nor want to message you? I know the best is to ghost back, but the words he told me make me mad because they were all lies. I feel like messaging what I think, but I know he doesn’t care and I guess I just need to let it go, however much it hurts .

I’d watch his ACTIONS, as that will usually tell you everything you need to know about his intentions and interest level. If he’s not showing you that he’s serious about moving things forward, I would move on. 💜

Thanks Susan! Every man and situation is different and there’s no “one-size-fits-all“ advice, but hopefully this gave some ideas for women who are with a good guy who’s not quite sure how to handle certain situations. I dated for 7 months, and then I thought he was proposing. He sad he likes to cook with me and eat and watch tv,like a family life that he always wanted. So I thought he was just shy , so I wanted to help him a bit, and asked if I had a chance with him ? He freaked out and said no, and that he never flirted with me ! I cried, he was nervous. Then he calmed down and said that he had been so worried I would loose interest. Long story, 2,5 years later we are still dating, no proposal so far, but we are closer to each other and talks about everything and he looks so loving, I can see it in his eyes. He's got asperger.
