I don’t follow why you say that? The extra weight or the potentially more agricultural feel? I have a Honda vfr1200r and a bmw r1200rt, (though both a lot more expensive bikes when new) I don’t have issues with either of those. Plus I have ridden both a 650 & 700 deauville and not noticed ride quality issues there and they were a similarly marketed bike to the NC……the deauvilles were a bit clunky changing gears, but super comfortable. Not having a go at you, or saying you are wrong, just intrigued why you think that it would impact ride quality.

@@whojamaflip1 Well In my view thats the outstanding feature, if one doesnt like it look for other motorcycle. At the end of the day Honda has many bikes with the features you highlighted but the extra tank space. If a blond tall girl is what one likes is because she is tall and blond...while others dislike blonds and or tall ones is irrelevant.
@whojamaflip1

In that case you are arguing that Honda made two motorbikes; the manual and the DCT version. The problem with that then is you have the manual version which is a not so cheap commuter/all rounder, or you have the DCT version which is near unique…but pretty expensive.

It is a brilliant bike but until Honda give it a little more power, it’s a 750! And they come into the modern age and update the tech I can’t have one. I love this bike but seems to me as if Honda has forgotten about this one!
@whojamaflip1

@dmertl75 i do agree it’s lagging behind in tech at the price, I’ll be surprised if they give it loads more power though, it kind of goes against its design ethos….but we shall see, it must be getting close to its next refresh!

I'm on my 2nd NC750X, both manuals as I wanted the 10kg weight saving and full automony over gear changes. Its a quite brilliant motorcycle, genius engine and gets a right move on once you get used to how the engine delivers its more than adequate torque (ignore the bhp figure)

You do know that it’s a Jazz engine that Honda cut in half?, I think it feels a little bitsimilar to a diesel engine with its low grunt and low rpm
@whojamaflip1
@whojamaflip1 6 ай бұрын
Agree with your comments on the feel, but the story it’s a Jazz engine cut in half is based on a joke one of the designers made at the time of the launch of the NC700. It was designed with help from Honda automotive, but was a brand new engine. I think Honda just like to leave the story out there as people think car engines are more reliable than bike engines.

That's an urban legend created by an improper translation of a joke made by the chief engineer. It is NOT a half a Jazz engine. I got banned from a owners FB group for saying so just because someone linked a news website that copypasted the urban legend. If you understand japanese you can easily find out what the engineer really said. He said it just as a joke! And if you look at any schematics you can see the engines have nothing in common.

I did loads of touring on my 2016 & 2019 750x with an upgraded seat and thought it was great for touring, but I think the post 2021 bikes suspension is too harsh for touring. In trying to make the bike more sporty, they have taken away a little too much comfort for me.

@whojamaflip1 5 ай бұрын
I’m sorry, but if you consider all Hondas bland you’ve either never looked at their range/History or are blinded by prejudice…..in their current range you have the Fireblade, AT, Transalp, Grom and X-ADV: all far from bland then you have stuff from the past like the Vtec VFRs, the styling on the VFR1200F or the NM4 Vultus, even the humble Cub is a design classic. Yes the NCs may be on the bland side styling wise…but ALL Hondas are bland…not a chance.
