I owned a Gladiator and had 0 problems with it! I liked it,,,wife could not get in/out of it! Would buy another with a small V8! Price is the problem. This video is not credible in my opinion!

In houston they got brand new 2024 Rubicon gladiators as low as 43k right now. So you can get the most off road capable truck for cheap right now. Your prices are waaaay off.

I did the same, picked up a Nighthawk edition last month and am loving it (my first Jeep). It's not nearly as bad as the video claims and I plan to buy a Mojave next year after giving this one to my son.

Like any vehicle, you add more options you add more problems. The Gladiator has more payload than my '16 Ram 1500 3.0L. But if the Gladiator had over 2,200# payload, a trailer brake controller, and 8 bolt wheels, sales would be good. The v8 idea would build a bigger following of buyers. The transmission is the ZF 8-speed, not the Aisen 6-speed. The Pentastar is a very good engine. No problems in my '20 Dodge Durango or '23 Jeep JLU. The 3.0L is a good engine, but diesels need different driving habits than a gas engine. I would have preferred the 4 cylinder 3.0L diesel for better cooling of the turbo.

Honda, Ford, and GM have one cab option. Toyota has options, for now, as they're the volume leader in the category. The other bed options don't sell as much as people like to complain about. Not worth the tooling and extra manufacturing cost to cater to a small crowd. Each new body config has huge expenses for crash testing and certification. It has a removable top and doors, it's not meant to check all the same boxes as other trucks. It's not meant to be a fleet/work truck. You can use it as such, but it's not it's target demographic. Engine options are a head scratcher I agree. I'm guessing they'll eventually switch over as they ramp up the new v6 and wind down the old one. For now it's probably saving them money using pentastar.
