I very much appreciate that you decided to weld a deep pit despite not being super confident in your expertise. Last time I tried welding my beads looked so ugly my uncle nearly started crying, so I know it takes a lot of effort to master it. And the handle is awesome, I love it. Great job man

I'd say the restoration was worthwhile it you like the end result, learned something along the way, made a few bucks from KZbin for future projects, and had FUN.

If you are doing it to save something of quality from being lost to decay... then yes it is worth it , alway better to preserve the things that are a part of history. In addition you have a prime workshop , great way to sped your time well , in a great place.

You completely destroyed that blade by welding it. The temper was lost and the weld won't harden if you quench and temper it again. It would have been better to grind out a new shape to the blade and at least have had a usable knife.

I like how he also never showed that spot on the blade again, even had a clamp to cover it up at one point, I watch this guy just to talk shit about it with my friends
