Learning guitar alot of people get LOST in scales. Scales mean nothing and are useless....if you don't have anyway to APPLY them in everyday playing. I would learn pentatonic major and minor and NO other scale. Learn it apply it in everyday playing. Don't learn any other scales Until you have a grasp of how to APPLY these two scale. These are the most used scales of ALL SCALES. So many guitarists have spent years playing and learning scales but never learned how to apply them how to use them....so they play NO BETTER...still lost. Helen is bright shining light of guitar playing.She can play guitar so she can teach Great video Helen you are so full of light I feel it all the way in Florida.!!

Interesting but I disagree somewhat. Learning the relationships between scales has helped my leads a great deal. Being able visualize scale shapes on the fretboard is quite useful and knowing how scales relate to the chords you play leads over is useful when resolving runs or creating unique phrases. You can't think outside the box until you know where the box is...food for thought
@F20ization4 жыл бұрын
I disagree with you.If it is the case of blues or the styles of music made by 125 as progression chords it matchs.For the case of jazz,bossa nova where made by many progression chords it doesnt match.What i agree with you is to learn those scales correctly minor and major pentantonic,then you learn others after making sure that you understand the concept of using it during improvisation.Cheer!

Thanks for the tutorial, can you do a tutorial on the technique you use connect these 5 shapes while soloing. I think a lot of beginners struggle with this idea and you hardly see any tutorial that treats it properly. There has to be a technique to connect this shapes seamlessly such that you can move thru the 5 shapes freely. Thanks for the lessson

Ok im not her, but I do play guitar 🤠 and personally, I started with a black fender electric. Usually if you're only starting out, don't get something really fancy and expensive, start with a basic and functional guitar. And if she likes it, then you can upgrade as you go 🥰
