These are my 5 Secrets for overweight skaters. These Best practices have been essential to me getting back on my board and I had to learn them the hard way. Luckily you don't! Hope this helps someone!

I'm 27 6ft4 and 400lbs, just got back into it after 10years or so. I definitely don't bounce like I used to when I was 15 and 120lbs lighter, but it sure is fun and a good workout. Great video, thanks for not shaming the big guys.

For me the key tip is don't let it be the reason why you can't skate. I am about 260 pounds and I can still do good on a board.

Currently 250 lbs. 28 years old, got back into it after 12 years of not doing it when my daughter told me she wanted to learn. In one month, with consistent practice I can now do my favorite BS crooked grinds, FS lipslides, board slides, 50-50, 5-0, BS nose slides, tre flips, fakie bigger flips, double varials, kickflips, etc. consistency is key!! Definitely hurts more to fall now though and the soreness is REAL.

Bro I’m probably close to 300 lbs. I like skating and want to get into it. And while I’m not too discouraged by my weight, this video definitely helps dispel any doubts I may have. There’s a learning curve with everything and time as well as practice is all you need

300lbs here. Back at it after 15 years. Within a week I’m feeling more comfortable and can now get up, and ride down ramps, Ollie and shovit. You got this! 💪

I was 170 in high school when I was decent at skating. Now 260 and feels like I'm going to die after doing a couple Ollies. Going to get back below 200 before I go back to visit Cali.

@@krizzdawg After posting this comment I went up to about 276. Now I’m at 236. Haven’t had much time to skate or really do anything because of work, but I plan to make time somehow.

Im 33. About 2 years out from a patellar tendon rupture. 360 lbs currently, down from 420 in February. I havent picked up a board since early 20s and 100 lbs ago. I have been feeling the itch lately, and this is making it worse! Thank you for sharing the knee exercises!

Good tips brother, maybe another tip it would be to take care of our diet, i am also dealing with the same issue, but you are right as long as you have fun everything is ok. Greetings my friend.

Totally agree losing weight is huge and diet is everything. I've lost 10 pounds so far and it's made everything easier! Thanks for the comment!

I'm 14. I just started a month ago. I don't know the first or last thing about skateboarding but I think I have a longboard. I started getting comfortable with my board and just rolling. Your videos help me a lot since I don't have anyone to help me:-)

Very good job getting back at it .im in the same boat .I got good results with trampoline once a week jumping, and using the treadmill 30 to 45 min 3 times a week.also eat more protein less fats and less sugar .i dropped 30 lbs. feel lot better .

Just bought a complete and skate shoes today for the 1st time in 19 years (I'm 33). Been getting that skating itch randomly lately, but discouraged bc of My age and me not being 115lbs anymore lol....this seriously helps and is really encouraging...actually part of getting back into it is to lose weight and get back into shape. I started trying to skate back in high school. I was and still am the fat friend of the group, so learning tricks was super hard back then. The pandemic was a real demotivator for me. Coming to college and losing about 30 pound has made me feel like actually picking up my board again. This video helped a lot dude. Thanks.

I started skating just for exercise. I'm 320 and it's so much jarder than when i was a kid. But it's just as fun as i remember

I'm 26 but I've put a ton of miles on my knees. those knee exercises have my knees aging in reverse I'd highly recommend knees over toes guy on instagram

ive been skating over 10 years got fat af during the pandemic im 5'11 weigh like 260, no offense to anyone but best tip i can give it to try and get stronger, actively try to eat less, start a gym membership, do bench press, deadlift and squats. like 2-3 times a week nothing crazy don't push too hard, just do it until you feel a burn, just a little bit of exercise, can go a long way for your skating, the older you get, the more i feel like its what you do off the board that will improve your skating, especially if you're overweight. good luck to anyone reading this.

thanks dude those leg exercises are helping a ton I actually landed a fakie tre again yesterday as well as a fakie bigflip backside flip and 5-0 grind. Insane session but I think my legs are returning.

I was 180 pounds in high school and pretty good at street skating . Now I’m 28 and 250 I want to get back into it

I love to just roll around, except here the roads are very bad and it can be discouraging sometimes to have to go a long distance until I find a smoother surface. Also it’s not as easy with big hips, but I don’t see that as a good enough excuse to not roll around. Thanks for the video!

im glad the secrets isn't trying to lose weight because gaining weight just happens and losing it can be harder so to see you encourage people to work with it instead of just making them feel bad for being overweight is really nice

My whole life ive been a big boy. I used to skate in 4th and 5th grade i was 5'9 and 180 pounds. I quit skating because i broke my collar bone but i wanna get back into it. Im 6'3 now and 310 but imma lose a bit more before i get back on

Im 284 and TERRIFIED of skating, cause i got a board awhile ago and fell backwards. I couldnt walk for a while afterwards but im getting back into it and im just practicing riding, cause im not that interested in doing tricks. Its scary tho cause if i fall, you KNOW its gonna be bad lol

Don't be discouraged. I'm 30 now, and haven't skated much in 5 years. I just started up again recently, and I'm 320 pounds. Just roll with the falls and you'll be fine. Tricks are taxing though lol

I'm 200 lbs your going to be fine. If you are worried get a powell flight deck there's now way you can snap it.
