I wanted to ask one thing the people who do gas lighting are they themselves aware about it that they are doing this like they do it intentionally knowing everything? And if it is intentional what benefits do they get from doing this? Gaslighters sometimes know what they are doing and do it with purpose. Other times, it isn't purposeful and there is a lack of awareness of what they are doing. Regardless of intention, or lack thereof, gaslighting is very traumatizing to those on the receiving end. Gaslighters are primarily motivated by avoidance of accountability and the desire to control others.
