The RULER model was super helpful! I also find it helpful to ask myself, in the midst of an emotion, "What am I feeling?" and allow myself to sit with that emotion- not judge it, simply sit with it.
@Awaecnan4 жыл бұрын
Labeling an emotion is very helpful :-). Also imagining the emotion is beside us as we notice it. Like anxiety. Imagine your anxiety has a name and it’s sitting beside you. :-).

My husband and I always talk about one of the things we love most about each other is emotional intelligence. We are so very aware of how the things we say can affect the way others feel as well as how we are effected by daily things. So insightful, thank you!

Thanks for the video Carol! I find that we have to be so careful about projecting our own emotions onto others. Whether positive or negative, we cannot expect someone who is dealing with different experiences to feel the same as us or react in a predictable way. I liked the ruler method that you presented and thought it was a great way to more accurately reflect on the way we're feeling and how to respond.
