Love the direction you're taking the channel Jay! There is obviously many others like us that burn for scientific and philosophical optimization. I also want to thank you Jay, since I have only been going full time into KZbin for the past 2 months and large credit for inspiring me to keep going with it goes to you. Growing a channel has changed my life quite a bit already and topics like focus and flow are at the core of what I care about. Cheers Jay, have a good one.

Interesting video, i started to listen to some pirated audiobook version of it that i think was narrated by Mihaly himself and i liked some analogies, didn't finish the book bc audiobooks aren't my thing but i think i'll pick up the book soon. i liked your comment about control and relating it to the "feed" part. i personally think that watching stuff and then stopping to analyze a little bit, like for example to write a comment, is a good way of controlling your "output" in a way. Makes you connect more to what you have just watched. Plus, my guess is that youtube takes into account this information when recommending videos as well. I have 0 data to back this up, and it may be a reverse effect, and it's just me letting my thoughts out more easily but there may be something algorithmic going on, not in "number of comments", but in comment quality.

Thanks for the book recommendation, Jay. I look forward to checking it out. I've got a bit of ADHD, and I'm easily distracted. I relish the times I can actually get into the flow.

I don't like how critical you were about this video in your latest one. Don't get me wrong, self-reflection is great, but this video is good! Maybe your CTR is low, I don't know, but it doesn't speak on the quality of the video in itself. Sometimes, google just doesn't show videos to people, or not to the correct audience. Nonetheless, this is great!
