Jambo🤣😉🤣, indoor ranges are where you take your friends to for their first or second time shooting and to keep proficient with your sight alignment, sight picture, trigger and breath control and to practice mag changes. Also to check out a gun you just had fixed or modified. Outdoor ranges are where you practice semi real life fighting tactics. I say semi real life because it doesn’t get real until you hear the snap of an incoming bullet passing close to you. One of the reasons to shoot couches, chairs, desks, cars, washer & dryers... is to learn how your rifle or pistol will perform when you shoot at those things. (Plus it’s fun) . It will also teach you the difference between cover and concealment. Most things people think will protect them won’t stop a round from a rifle or a shotgun (especially with slugs) I can’t say for sure why more bright people seem to take this seriously. Maybe more of us realize that we are our own first line of defense (especially if there is an emergency or disaster). Maybe more of us realize that the veil of civilized society is thin and brittle. Maybe it’s because, unfortunately in the past, we had a right to self defense with firearms when it was denied to others and became more of a family tradition for us. As a Marine combat veteran I have seen far to often that there is evil in this world and it preys on and gains strength from weakness and will fill the vacuumed left by the breakdown of a civilized society.

Where I live, open shooting range is your backyard. Targets out to 2,000 yards, walk 100' to your house for lunch and bathroom breaks, covered shooting benches (what country folk call patio furniture), pop-up and swinging targets for pistols, falling targets for 100-300 yard shooting. And if your into skeet, you can shoot all the clay your shoulder can take. Hunting is a 100 yard walk from the house. That's country living.

Mr. Pray I know it's sometimes scary to do the outside gun range but you gotta just go with the flow. My dad took me to the gun range the first time when I was 2 years old and by 6-7 years old he started taking me to the outside gun ranges. When I was 12 I invited 2 of my best friends one was Hispanic and the other was African-American they both freaked out and after only 2 hours after the sun went down and they realized that we were staying all night the cried to be taken home. They both called me a freak because I was having a blast shooting my dad's Smith and Wesson 357 with a 77 inch barrel and his 45 and nine millimeter hand gun, and all of his shotguns but my 2 favorites we're his 357 and the double barrel shotgun.
