Have you ever wondered what goes on in an introvert's mind?
Introverts are prone to overthink - how we process information is different from others. Introverts like to run scenarios through their mind, go through internal thoughts and feelings, plan and analyze before it goes to the brain, and absorb the information.
From the challenges of being an introvert to the things introverts think about all the time, this video is a must-watch for anyone who wants to understand introverts better!
Here are a few things introverts secretly think but never say. Do you relate to any of these?
Do you like quizzes? If so, take this quiz to find out if you're a genuine introvert: • QUIZ: Are you a Genuin...
Did you know that introverts have a dark side too? Find out all about it here: • The Dark Side of Intro...

It is sad that the world struggles to accept introverts.... Personally, I don't think I will be able to TRUELY understand it as a did a personality test, and I'm only 55% introverted... Though, I am a deep thinker who is good at putting myself in others' shoes. If you want my advice, take being an introvert as a way of the world guiding you to find TRUE friends that care about you more deeply than most... Having more friends usually means that the quality of the friendship will decrease, so really, it just a waiting game to find a good communicator.... and I don't think an introvert will struggle with waiting with as active a mind as you guys have!

funny thing is when I was in KinderGarden and Senior KinderGarden, I was so shy that people basically thought I was mute. A kid was even shocked like in grade 1 or 2 that I could even talk. I kinda felt like I had a reputation as the quiet one through elementary school but honestly when someone tells me why don't u talk, I tell them "cause I have nothing to say" and it really is true cause I don't just comment on random stuff just to have the need to say something. But just like in this video I talk a lot more on a topic I like.

100% me and regarding calls, this absolutely. If you plan on calling me, please text beforehand. If I see a call, even from a number I know, I tend to freeze at the idea of answering I need to be told prior to or I'm likely to let it go to voicemail. And the letting them talk also resonated; my first date with my (now) ex we spent several hours together and most of the conversation was coming from his side 😂, not because I had nothing to contribute but all my thoughts were internal. I don't like to speak much especially with someone I'm newly acquainted with.

Yes, I am certainly an introvert. Sometimes I think about several responses I could make in an conversation, and while doing all this reflection, I often forget to actually say something 😂. Also, often these kind of conversations I have with myself in my head are more interesting than the real ones. I also don‘t like it all talking about myself, it’s like I am giving away a piece of myself and people will just be able to use it for whatever they want. I’ve learnt to deal with all the social and identity problems, hopefully other introverts out there will do the same. Stop caring so much about what others think about you, it’s out of your control unless of course you want to try and manipulate them which certainly doesn’t fit your personality. Be yourself, and demand others respect you just like you respect them.

I was super extroverted in elementary school, and have slowly gotten a bit more introverted (on the introvert/extrovert scale) in middle school. I try to think about what I'll saying more, especially when people aren't directly asking me for an answer so I can sound funny and actually make people laugh. Sometimes I end up just not saying anything. I'm usually fine talking about myself, but for some reason, I just don't like talking about my religion. I wear a hijab in school, I play sports in a hijab, I'm clearly a Muslim. But answering questions about my religion just makes me anxious for some reason. Also since I've started middle school I've been wondering more what people think of me. It hasn't affected me much, I just think about it. Is it weird if I say I'm not sure what energizes me me? Because as long as I get enough sleep, I'm fine whether I'm around people or on my own. I do wish I'd get invited to more things, though. And I actually want to go. I just eventually get bored when I'm on my own. Or I watch KZbin all day.

And it should be noted the difference between introverted and shy: - An introverted person is someone who focus more in their mind instead of the external world (it doesn't mean they don't pay attention to the world). Being introverted is not necessarily attached to social interactions, even though being one has social implications, because, even though they enjoy social interactions, it can get overwhelming for them because of the fact that it demands a focus on the real world. - A shy person is someone who is afraid of social interactions for a lot of reasons, such as fear of being known more profoundly and being judged. Being shy doesn't mean you are introverted, in fact, a lot of extroverted people are shy. And it should also be noted that no one is 100% introverted or extroverted, we are simply more drawn to one or another. These are nothing more than labels, and should be understood with caution. An introverted person still likes social interactions, but it can get pretty overwhelming for them overtime.

I remember feeling pretty insecure about my inconsistency when talking to people. I am really shy, and sometimes I avoid talking to people, but if someone ever came up with a topic to talk about or a question that I wanted to answer, I would be so excited to answer their question, even if it wasn't towards me. After a while of self-discovering, I actually feel a lot more confident about my personality. It's ok to feel unconfortable when someone is hitting you with small talk or you don't know them well, and it's also really awesome to be able to express so many thoughts to someone running off of one question, you just have to find the right people who will understand and love you no matter how talkative or not you are.

Yeah, true, but to add on to "but if someone ever came up with a topic to talk about or a question that I wanted to answer, I would be so excited to answer their question, even if it wasn't directed towards me". I have made the mistake of answering before if they're not talking to me, and then I have to deal with people going, "I wasn't talking to you" and "Okay, but who asked you?" Which makes me shrivel up inside and feel like I'm dying. So, yeah, sorry that this isn't related to your main point, I just saw an opportunity to respond and I took it.... Introversion can be seen as both a gift and a curse, like most other superpowers; the stronger the ability, the greater the drawback to compensate. It’s all about balance (and, conversely, counterbalance), a fundamental inherent in, of, and to everything and everyone. For introverts, who are often aware of both the contrasts between extremes and the need for equilibrium between them, it can be quite the juggling act. Of course, this affinity for deeply attuned observation and perspective can be beneficial when it comes to innovative and creative ideas with myriad potential applications… …if only more than a handful weren’t so easily sorted into the uncertainty pile, dismissed as “probably not good enough,” when it wouldn’t hurt to pitch it just once. 😅

Wow this feels right for me. Once when my friend introduced my friend group to an old friend I tried to be accepting and make them feel comfortable but I didn’t say much. And it seems like they have never met an introvert because they thought I hated them because I was so quiet. My best friend was acting off when I found out the new person told them even despite everyone’s reassurance. I’m not friends with them now, other than one friend (who actually happens to be the friend that introduced the new person), but I’m doing fine and I saw it coming when I was being left behind and never had a partner or a group which caused me to be put with some kids that would make fun of me. It luckily only lasted half a year though because I made a new friend and we joined a group of kind people that I am still friends with.

As an introvert, I am quite surprised that all the said points matches with my behaviour. + Wanting to be invited by not really interested in it + Thinking how other people perceives me + Talking on an interesting topic for hours + Ignoring any type of real-time conversations, even for my clients. Mostly because I need some time to think if someone asks question. + Not eager to hang out with friends.

@@Psych2go Point 2 would have to be the the most important 1 to me. I have been judged in the past as a snob because I don't talk to much however I am always listening and once we get chatting they completely change there point of view and a few people have apologised to me because they judged me before even talking to me.

2:30 To this, as an Introvert, I would add being greeted randomly by acquaintances or strangers. I hate it. There is nothing more annoying than interrupting whatever I was doing or thinking, just to say hi and then proceeded to ignore the person who greeted me. I honestly wish that greeting someone came with the obligation of having something worthwhile to say.

This describes me so well!!! I know without any doubts for a long time that I'm an introvert. I generally appreciate the contents of psy 2go but this description of Introverts depicts me so well. Especially when it comes to being relieved of not havIng to go to friends plans because they have een cancelled. Also, I ended up understanding that when you don't share same interest with someone it is hard to talk about a topic without being boring to them. Maybe you could add an introvert mighT sometimes stay quiet only because what they have tosay has alreadybeen said. And really what's the use of saying something someone else has just expressed? Personnally I don't see the point of being redundant.

I strongly relate 4 out of 5 of the points talked about. When I come home from school, there is nothing i want more than to be alone. I'm almost constantly thinking about all kinds of things, and i'm 95% sure that i'm the least interesting person that i know of. I love to be invited to things, but if i feel too exhausted etc. to say yes to the invitation, i'll tell them no. when i'm in a conversation with many people, i'm not saying too much, mostly just listening and thinking. I'm very bad at small-talking, and I feel like I have a limited amount of thongs to talk about. When i've reached that limit, i'm basically unable to talk to that person, unless they start and lead the conversation. When i talk with people, i'm calculating everything i'm going to say, the same way as one does when playing chess. "If I do that, they will probably do this, then i'll respond with this, but what happens then? do they think i'm weird if i do that? probably should do something else instead". I will almost always conclude with not saying anything. However, if i have planned to do someting with someone, (most of the time) i want to do it. I don't make plans in hope that the other person cancels it, I do it because I hope it will happen. I need alone time, and i need to be with other people. If i have too much alone time, i will feel lonely, but if i am too social i will get tired.

As an introvert I definitely relate to all of this, especially the being alone and creating imaginary worlds and such in my mind. I do that consistently. I'll admit that sometimes I don't thrive in silence but that's because of anxiety and depression. Other than that if I'm comfortable enough with someone I'm happy just to sit, listen and observe, taking in my surroundings and such. This was a wonderful video. Thanks for making it. 💕

The phone thing is SO true. My friend, who I can talk to in person for hours on end, called me out of the blue and though I did answer, I was nervous and was walking around outside, shaking like a leaf, heart racing at 190MPH the entire 33 minute call... This is why the other 99% of the time I just don't answer and text 10-15 minutes later apologizing about missing the call and asking over text what they called about...

Back in the day I used to want to be invited, no matter what, and went. But I have gotten older, and to the point where my friends know they probably won't see me for months. I do appreciate a call or a text now and then :) I live in this great little neighborhood where, for the most part, people look out after each other. A few weeks ago a dead tree fell across my driveway. I contacted my neighbor and offered him the job (just because we're neighbors I don't expect to not pay for something like that!) Another neighbor checked with him to see if I was alright, with my driveway blocked and all--I'd told him I wouldn't be leaving the house for 3 days, so no hurry. Nice to know that neighbors watch out for you!! I could write paragraphs of nice things my neighbors have done for each other--I am so blessed to live here!!!
