Gosh yes, missions, custom markers and qt boost are so sorely needed. Qt jumping via fixed markers is such a massive pain in the butt, this feature can't come soon enough. Also custom markers are what would finally allow us to use our ships as home bases, because rn you can only see the markers within 20km range and the only workaround being a delivery mission box used as a marker, which takes way too much time to set up.
@gravity00x4 күн бұрын
It's crazy that technically and practically that system is fully functional and a 100% in the game already. All they would have to do is copy that system to its own branch and add a button in the UI to "create custom waypoint at this location". TADAAA.
@Hex_One3 күн бұрын
I really hope all of the QT markers from planets and moons wont be available anymore for quick QT travels when we get the new QT system and QT boost. Only the OM markers should remain. The fact that we don't have to penetrate from space to atmosphere manually is a real drawback from the game. Especially when you know this was in the game before. Also, this would force players to pay more attention to the environnent and look for hidden outposts or points of interest.

I'm still waiting for "ship naming", "location marking" (caves, lakes, etc...) and the other low priority features promised through the years. ;-) I just suggested in "Game Ideas" that it would be a morale boost that every three or four months a group of Devs (Promised Feature Team) would release a low priority feature, such as "ship naming", "location marking" (caves, lakes, etc...) to the game.

The new quantum travel mechanics was something I was looking forward to as well. Plus, actor status 2.0, and by now shouldn't we had the ability to attach our helmets to our waist already ? I know it's kind of implemented in a half way but it doesn't work. Especially because you can't magically "store" the helmet in the station inventory volume anymore, you either need a backpack or hold the helmet in your hand and put it somewhere if you don't have storage nearby, if you want to drink/eat something. I know they have to design all the interiors of the helmets still and I guess the feature is being held up for that to finish. Also, the interaction system is a bit confusing, some interactions with touchscreens have to be done in the old method, like elevator panels and some "display" buttons. Others, have a prompt. Not all interactions have transitioned over to the new system very well, which leaves it in a half way experience. - EVA pedaling and leaping - actor status v2 / hygiene / prostheses - ground vehicle spawning on our freight elevator - inventory management QoL and workflow improvements more consistent drag and drop vetween various storage devices in the same panel) - fixing up cargo grids with several ships, like the taurus and raft (don't accept always all kinds of mission boxes) I'm hopeful that 4.1, 4.2 etc will bring us a lot of focus on these smaller QoL improvements before the 1.0 features are really setting in.

Shareable Map Markers - Agree. It would have been really nice to have that this year. Stability - I don't see how this would have been possible this year. They are rewriting major chunks of core tech to get server meshing working so I don't expect to see any real stability until that work finalized. Investigation Contracts - This would have been really nice to have. This game is definitely content starved. Quantum Boost - Definitely would have improved the experience, without I tend to stick to locations that have a QT marker. Improved Voice - This is a tough one. People are comfortable with Discord because it's been around forever. Regardless of whether VOIP is stable or not, I suspect a lot of players will never use it or resist it because they have been able to play the game without for so long. You make a valid point, here but as long as Discord works VOIP will never dominate despite all the positives that could come from it. Having said that, there are also some negatives, for example, I don't want to hear others players' music blasting through my speakers/headset when I have a distinctly different taste in music. Nor do I want to hear all of their background noise either because not everyone knows or cares about that. I feel so strongly about this, that until we can mute individuals I probably will never use VOIP.

I think the problem is Citizencon 2023 was soo good and everyone felt like CIG was shaking off the concept side of things and making the game. And we got, what, 50% of what they showed from that? And to add fuel to the disappointment, Citcon 2024 gave us a 2 year window for SQ42 and more concepts and less gameplay things. So, it kinda sucks. ngl. Theyve done some impressive things but I gave up trying to play cause 3.24 has been so unstable. Which btw, it was so bad they ran with it while Citcon2024 was happening.

Location sharing and custom waypoints is the biggest blunder to not implement. It is probably one of the easiest features to deliver and has one hell of a great QOL implication for the player. Solo players who have to change ships and return to a location to actually earn money would finally be able to play the game. 100% agree, that feature is long long long majorly overdue. Edit: as someone who didn't know about their intention of adding the supercruise system, tthat I was used to in ED, yes a 100 times, yes. As of right now star travel feels FAKE. It does not feel like a space simulator, but rather a scripted and much more limited experience than it has to be. It is the reason I immediately quit EVE, because you don't contol what's going on, you given a choice between a b and c and have to let the computer do the job for you, which for me personally completely breaks my immersion.

1) This is one of the first failed features they dropped in 2024. It was supposed to come with the Starmap. What we got was a visually different Starmap with no significantly different gameplay impact. Slapping new paint on an old feature is not delivering a new feature. 2) Every new release has been rushed--not meaning that it was delivered quickly, but before it was ready--and we're seeing more glitches and bugs than we've seen since the 3.17 build. The MISC ship entries are borked. Exiting the pilot seat on a Pulse leaves the avatar standing on it. Persistent hangars are not persistent; I've lost a lot of gear that was simply not there the next time I logged in. The personal inventory is in the worst state I've ever experienced. This year has been a cascade of incomplete features pushed out the door so they can say they delivered them. Incomplete and dysfunctional features do not count as a success. 4) It's disappointing that they keep promising this feature and pushing it back. It would have been nice to have when they bombed us with Master Modes (yet another incomplete feature that is a massive failure for 2024). I am not aware of any technical limitation keeping it out of our hands. They were also going to change full quantum jumps, having to steer into them like navigating the wormhole. Maybe it's all hinging on the jump point mechanics, and we'll see it shortly after 4.0 releases. I've all but lost faith in CIG due to their handling of releases in 2024. I know many people feel the same. If they could just finish the features they promise, that would go a long way to recovering some good will.

You can't expect map markers until the map marker creation system is automated by asset and creatable by scanning and mapping ranges and relative land based datapoints kept in space precisely and keep those datapoints on revolving objects that are orbiting stars, so no, your expectations need to sit on the back burner until the planets rotate, and coordinates from outer-space to relative airspace is a thing done with permanent landmarks, my dude. That's not happening until base building is in game, and that is also in the works; your expectations for map markers is unrealistic, because they would be constantly broken with each new change that had to happen. You may think it would have been a game changer, and it will, sorry your own expectations were hit by Covid-19, but at least we have panet tech, and gates, and the polaris... ...that we have in 2024 as promised. Wah.

I don't think the ability to sell map data to other players is a good idea. As a former EVE Online player who focused entirely on PvE content, the highest value thing to you at all times, no matter what kind of PvE activity you're doing is secrecy. If people can just go and buy a copy of a map that tells them where the best mining sites are on a planet then it makes that map worthless to me because 1: it means by the time I get there it'll already be gone or 2: I'll be the first one there but other's will turn up and take it right from under me or 3: a popular griefer activity will become buying pve content maps as a way to hunt down pve players who can't defend themselves. I suppose though that it could inversely create a role for vigilantes to run protection businesses. I tried to do that for free in EVE Online but of course people would assume I was there to kill them and immediately run away before I had the chance to explain myself, and no doubt they wouldn't believe me anyway. I'll try again in Star Citizen when it comes out in 2045.
