I mean if they do that then people will start collecting pieces of challenges to take back to camp. That’s a horrible precedent to set. “We need ropes for the shelter, if we see rope in a challenge make sure we take it back to camp”

Producers can learn from the players and make sure to set a "no stealing from the challenge" rule from that moment forward. However, since Rachel was the first to do it and there was no rule against it, Jeff should've let it go and not called her out. She hacked the system lol

Iirc when Jeff had the winning team stripped of immunity in 41, Danny, Sydney & Deshawn all told Jeff that they were planning on quitting but were all talked out of it according to Ricard & Deshawn in post-season interviews at the time. Didnt help Sydney getting eliminated that round... And when immunity was stripped from the winners again in 42, Lydia in her exit interview (again in post-seasin press) said she wanted to quit as well and was talked down from doing it. If only Lydia didnt go home this round, much like Sydney last season. Maybe adding Applebee's made fewer people want to quit... Thats 4 Players who wanted to quit thanks to the Hourglass Twist in 41/42. FOUR. It was just as hated by the players as it was the viewers. And there couldve been more people who wanted to quit as well. I dont remember much, but i do remember this being fairly big at the time of 42 airing.

I can't stand when people say stuff like this when her own tribemates recognized her as a threat all the way back to when they were a tribe of six. Even when they merged, it was said so many times how she's dangerous and can't get to the end. Xander was the only one (from memory) shown to actually underestimate her, thinking that sitting next to her would be a good thing for him. I know you didn't say the "DEI winner" thing, but was there not literally a black guy right next to her? Even when they would talk about all the race stuff, they hardly if ever included Erika: they literally just viewed her as Canadian

Even though it’s the “right choice” to break the hour glass, Jeff still coerced her into breaking it. “If you wanna do nothing then just leave everything as it is. But if you want to change history by making history… smash the hour glass” and then hands her the tool. Tbh that’s sly coercion. Which reinforces that budget era survivor tries to force gameplay and rely on shock factor rather than player wit and savvy gameplay.

For season 41 they should’ve had either way she’s not immune and she competes in the challenge, but she can smash the hourglass to reverse history, it could be an interesting strategy decision each season on what one of your allies do you wanna give immunity to

For me season 38-46 were my least favorite. It felt like they were throwing everything at the game to see what sticks and we were all the guinea pigs 😵‍💫 didn’t love and was on the verge of checking out after 40 some odd seasons. I dont know but it feels like survivor jumped the shark all the way back in 38 and we are all just the hangers on.

It works better bc it would basically be a merge round and it wouldn’t be completely unfair because the winners get to compete for individual immunity and the players can decide whether to be “fair” to the winners or not. It’s not perfect, but better than the hourglass.

@ after 47 seasons of survivor, I find it’s these weird anomalies, weather unfair, or crazy that keep it interesting. If it was fair, predictable and the same every time it would cease to even exist. That’s why at this stage of new era, it is threatening to become bland again …. More change, more curveball, more goofy shit to stir it up is a good thing in my eyes
