I think this was interesting and basically correct. The real "core" of the slave trade was the Gold Coast which can include Nigeria. There was a queen of one of the largest tribes in Nigeria who basically can be credited with turning the slave trade from a "mom and pop" style business into a true industry. I cannot recall her name but there are statues of her in Nigeria - TODAY - which is hard to rationalize but she made a vast fortune selling negros to the Portuguese for decades. She almost single-handedly created the Trans-Atlantic slave trade.

They didn't "let" women serve in the army in the Fon--the Dahomie Amazonians were slaves turned into warriors. More like the Unsullied in Game of Thrones then a modern army recruit.

@futureshocked that is a lie. Why are you lying this. My step mother is fon and they were warriors for their tribe. African never ever made their own peopke from the same tribe slave. These were warrior women protecting their own

Interesting, how did you not mention the coromantee/Ashanti/Akan tribes from Ghana? Jamaica mainly had slaves from Ghana.

I think it's pronounced EEBO People and that the turn Red Bone derives from light skinned IGBO who were called Red Igbo

@@kaskieseth5044 you are actually wrong most black americans have Nigerian dna than any other country in west and central Africa. Heck the black Americans even look like Nigerians than Congo and Angola. eg jayz, lebron James Jennifer Hudson Kevin Durant, lil baby, James harden ,Michael b jordan,TD Jakes, Steve Harvey ,timbaland ,Mary j blidge, Missy Elliott, sza, 50 cent, summer walker normani etc.the Congo's and angolans weren't many they were few that were taken to the united states.studies shows. Plus most Congo's and Angolans were taken to Brazil and Portugal

@guleet Nigeria has the highest enslaved people in from the transatlantic slave trade in the united states then there is Congo Sierra Leone Cameroon etc congo came second but it wasn't a 50/50 percent. Nigeria was more than other west and central Africa countries that sold slaves.from research and DNA conducted in the united states

@@joyuyoke4999 Slave trade and Afro-American culture in United States is mostly Kongo (Congo Square in New-Orleans , Gullah culture ,Philadelphia , Angola place in New-Orleans etc..)but the trade from carribean to US increase the numbers of Igbo or yoruba that's why we see a lot of Nigerian in first place in 23 and Me result .

That is a mispronunciation of Europeans whose languages do not have the gb sound. The presenter's pronunciation is correct and spot on. Ibo is Anglicised form. Igbo people or Ndigbo as the collective.
