The scarring is the hardest part I think. Like yeah I’ll go through this pain and perceived ugliness of a big juicy pimple, but then no, wait… I’m gonna remind you that I was here, I’m never gonna completely go away and I’m gonna make it even hard to love yourself. These things that make us human are frustrating, I swear. I have an old large scar that is officially 20 years old. I’ve had this scar longer than I’ve been an adult at this point. I can’t really do anything to cover it besides clothing but that’s not always possible, especially in the hot weather. It’s embarrassing and tells a story that I don’t want to share with the world.

@@_sunchildd i used to incorporate them in my skincare routine a few months ago before i started using Adapalene and prescription-strength Azelaic Acid. If you want to use both, then use Benzoyl Peroxide cleanser in the morning and AHA/BHA at night. If you use a Benzoyl Peroxide leave-on, which can be super irritating, then use it at night, and use BHA in the morning - i don't recommend using AHA in the morning because it makes your skin more sensitive to sunlight.

What I really like about Cassandra is when she suggest products that are inexpensive, and that most of the time works even better than expensive brands.. Also, I was discouraged watching vloggers in the past who talks about skin care routine because of how expensive their products are and sometimes they use sponsored products for their content. Unlike Cassandra who explains the science behind it and have a very strong stand with the products that she likes and don’t like (no matter who endorses it). I really feel that she wants to share her knowledge to her fans and other people who might need it. I got into skin care because of her ♥️ I just saw her video randomly on Facebook and I knew she was the one. Thanks Cassandra for your videos! This particular one is one of my fave 💜💜💜

I use it with benzoyl peroxide now that my skin is used to it but let me tell you it was the best decision I’ve made in regards to my skin. I've been getting these really painful cysts that are deep underneath the skin and leaves awful scars every time my period comes, and I don't know what to do about it :( I'm going to try the ordinary products and the Paulas Choice BHA, but should I use the BHA every day or just around the time when my skin flares up?
@akoc183 жыл бұрын
i think first try it every 2 days or so, don't skip spf and see how well your skin tolerates it. for people who consistently need to keep things under control on their whole face or a large part of it, it could be more beneficial to use it every night or every other night, whereas for someone who has only flares-up at certain areas or few spots here and there, or for someone who does not tolerate bha's well, using it as a spot treatment only when there is a problem without irritating the clear areas of the face could be wiser. and please don't buy several actives at once, try one for a few weeks and then if it doesn't work change it, or add another one for another problem, etc. just adding this because you said i'll try the ordinary and the paula's bha. I think only buying one of them at a time will save you money and you'll be sure what works and what doesn't for you. finally, if you think it really is related to your period coming, common actives may not work (or not in the long term) and the best bet is seeing a derm before irritating your skin with random stuff, bc hormonal acne is usually treated with prescription actives, like Spironolactone, which works wonders for hormonal acne sufferers. sorry if I over-explained myself and if you already know these, I just wanna make sure I'm clear because I burned my skin several times when I followed "use this!" kind of brief advice from people.

The reason “regular” salicylic acid is commonly referred to as the _”only BHA used in skincare”_ is because BS is pretty exclusive to EastAsian skincare and not typically used in western countries. LHA was developed by L'Oreal which owns the patent on the ingredient so a very limited number of products contain this BHA.

Yes please share some more about micro needling and laser!😊 I’m curious if any of these are helpful for scars and skin thinning after being prescribed prednisone!

I'm ultra oily and I have blackheads everywhere, my entire face, my neck, chest, shoulders (used to have terrible body acne in my teens too, so covered in scars as well). The only time my skin was smooth and blackheads free was when I went to vacations and I spent a week in a super chlorinated pool and salty ocean, it dried me out so bad but I was mirror smooth. Most product over the counter is just not strong enough to clear my pores. Like Paula's choice? it's just water for me, it did absolutely nothing. But you know what? Now that I'm 33, I meet a lot of my friends with drier skin and I can tell my oily mess of a face keeps the wrinkles at bay so I'm ok with that.

Please do a video on scar treatments like laser or micro needling. I had acne for over 10 years which left me with a lot of boxed and rolling scars.

I struggle with whiteheads only basically but only by cheeks and it has scarred a bit and pigmented and gotten red but it only started like September of last year and I don't get it I was perfectly fine maybe a pimple or 2 ever like 3 weeks I wouldn't even have a routine or anything but I see pictures from on my snap from a year ago and it just gets to me sometimes because I don't know what I could be doing wrong but I will start using a benzoyl wash instead so thank you for the recommendations :)

Could you consider covering loose skin after weight loss? I want to use products that will help support healthy elasticity to minimize it and help it bounce back from the trauma that stretching caused.

I have pimples blemishes and tons of acne scars, it sucks ass I tell you. I clear up for years then acne comes back out of no where mostly in winter so I moisturize lots. But I didn't know this for a long time so its kinda helping finally.

I have had hormonal acne for over 3 decades. After patiently trying just about everything available, I tried wild yam. After 2 months all cystic acne cleared and stayed that way. May I also add that I use Superdrug's salicylic acid cleanser in the mornings too. I feel it keeps the blackheads at bay. I bought 500mg tablets from Amazon. Nothing too expensive. Just checked out reviews and followed my nose. I take one a day on regular days but two tablets a few days before my period. Once period starts I go back to taking one in the mornings. Give it around 2 cycles for it to work. I sincerely hope this helps at least one person...

Hi Cassandra, can I mix 5% Urea repair cream with peptides or niacinamide serum?
@db-gb5xi3 жыл бұрын
It should be fine. Urea at 5% is mainly a moisturizer.

Just a question as I can’t find the answer anywhere: “I have Rosacea, and contemplating on getting laser treatment for it, BUT I have face tattoos that I don’t won’t to ruin. Will the laser also go deep enough to push the ink further down?” I have had micro needling back in 2017, but that was before I got my tattoos (2019-2020). I’m also thinking of getting a facial hair remover, but that’s also a laser, so same question…? Since it kills the hair sack/follicle, will it go deep enough to ruin the ink/tattoo?!
@aimenfatima77133 жыл бұрын
i’m pretty sure any kind of laser would mess up your tattoos even if it doesn’t remove them completely :( even at home hair removal devices like IPL guns can do it and my derm also told me not to get laser hair removal over tattoos

Why do I get white heads when I use a new product, started using Maelove retinol stargazer lowest retinol, I stopped using because in the morning I would have a few whiteheads, I only used 4 times. Also my pores get clogged / congested on sides of face, jawline, behind ears, not all the time if I eat my homemade sweet treats, seams to contributing to whiteheads to. I'm 58, when I wash my face it is flaky, I use water and washcloth, marula oil that's it. Thank you 🌸

Could you help with a skin care routine for us “older” skins? I’m 38 and have been using nothing but Estée Lauder since age 21, I’d like a routine that could get me out of that company; I’m sure you know exactly what I mean, but similar or better results.

Proactiv got rid of my acne but also around the same time when i was 26 i found out those round plaques i had in my hands were roundworm (caught from stray cats probably as a kid. Yeah, i probably had that for 15 years. Neglectful parents never did anything.) I was prescribed Lamasil (Terbinafine) for 3 months, a powerful antifungal. My skin cleared up perfectly and i never got bad acne again after that.

I'm 37 and have pcos. Would you make a video for how we can treat and deal with facial hair issues? Specifically chin ingrowns and scarring from shaving and tweezing

I can’t use retinol anymore because I am newly pregnant. It has always prevented my acne from popping up. Now my skin has gone downhill, especially around my cheeks and chin. I’m trying a bakuchiol night cream, and I’ve heard it’s similar to retinol in some ways (I’m using the Andalou Naturals Rejuvenating Night Cream). Hoping it helps 🤞🏻
