Good morning my friends. This latest video covers the topic of weakened veins (venous insufficiency), which causes problems like varicose veins, spider veins and edema in the legs and feet. The walls of the veins tend to get weaker with age because of high estrogen levels, or more notably a deficiency in live flavonoids and Vitamin C. I put an emphasis of natural, herbal supplements today which contain flavonoids to restore the vein walls to get circulation working again in the legs. I also must emphasize, veins do not pump blood properly without muscle activation, so you must start moving your body more to help heal the veins, especially if you stand or sit a lot all day. Exercise is your #1 priority, before supplements. All the best - Ryan & Hannah. 💚

In the Northern hemisphere, when the chestnut trees drop their leaves in autumn, take a bag, go for a walk in the park and collect some of the brown leaves from the ground. Back at home, hang the bag on the heating radiator or spread the leaves on it to dry completely overnight and then keep them in your kitchen. Make tea with a leaf every now and then. It lasts very long. Put a tablespoon of that cold tea in anything you drink. It costs you nothing but it works absolute wonders! A tablespoon of it when you get the flu will stop it in its tracks overnight too.

- Acerola cherry is great for everyone, regardless. Never heard of Diosmin & hesperidin, going to research those. Udpate: Learned! Keep those citrus fruit peels. Scrub clean (I'll be using baking soda) and I'll be dehydrating all peels, then powdering, sprinkling on my salads, I think. I'm loving this channel.

Very helpful information. Thanks Ryan! I've been dealing with venous insufficiency for a couple of decades now. Been sporting compression socks since my 20s! I'm on again off again with supplements and eating habits. My legs dont look too bad, but I am self-conscious of them. Think I am going to up my supplement game. When I am eating better I always notice a lightness to my legs. This info is spot on👍

@@claradenken I dont have a specific list that directly or knowingly affects vein health. I think of it as more supportive endeavor. It is more about keeping inflammation down and reducing the swelling that I am prone to. My body does well with more plants and less processed food. Probably most peoples do no matter the issue. I notice it in the swelling all over (rather lack of swelling), especially legs when I have been more discerning with my eating habits. Like, look! I have ankle bones! lol. Bulging varicose veins are still noticeable, but I imagine there is less pressure on surrounding tissues (very important as some folks can develop ulcers), and more functional valves in the vein (which helps with fluid pooling). I have more pep in my step. Swelling can be uncomfortable, and pressure and such from the venous insufficiency can make legs feel heavy and tired. So doing what I can to alleviate that is important to me. Compression socks help a lot-- gets that fluid and blood moving back up the leg. Have to find what works for your body. The supplements further support all this. I doubt the bulging veins could ever disappear, but hopefully can reduce new ones from forming and hopefully not let what is already there get worse.

@@CMarie404 thanks for you reply! It's good to hear you have figured some things out for yourself. So you haven't tried carnivore, have you? Might I ask what supplements you're taking or which ones you feel are helping you? For me it's still in the process of being diagnosed. It seems I injured something (lymph and/or venous system, or tissue) during a really strong mechanical lymph massage. Seem to have a lot of inflammation, tingling etc. I will need to try out many things, probably... so I'm trying to figure out what helped people with similar symptoms.

@@claradenken Personally I dont do any particular structured or marketed diet. Just not sustainable for me (probably most people really). I wont lock myself in (or out) of a variety of foods. I consider my "diet" to be inclusive of foods rather than exclusive. I look to work with a variety of foods. Make things interesting, get a wide variety of nutrients. I dont eat perfectly, but I aim to make better choices more often than not. "Better" for me is fresh food, less reliance on prepackaged. I do well with more plant based eating (by this I mean the actual definition of it-- having more meals with majority of food on plate being from fruits and vegetables. With less emphasis on other food groups. But nothing excluded. So traditionally a vegetable would be a side, and a meat/refined carb would be the main. Plant based pushes more emphasis on vegetables, and scales back meat and refined carb. Yet some of my meals wont have meat or dairy at all. But those arent eliminated from my diet (sometimes that is all that is on my plate! justg because that is what I want), I personally just dont need it at every meal. But I do need vegetables. Various grains usually makes my belly happy. More recently "plant based" has been taken over by vegans--nothing wrong with that-- but that diet is by nature highly exclusionary. Again, fine for those that prefer that, but the term technically doesn't mean that. As for Supplements, hm, it's a mixed bag. I have a few that I aim to take every day or several times per week. I use pretty much what is mentioned here when I remember (ie rutin, horse chestnut). I am keen on fish oil caps, D3/K2 combo, magnesium glycinate at night (happens to help me sleep, also helps legs feel more relaxed), spermadine (can be found in wheat germ and various vegetables, very good for overall health, including vascular system). Collagen peptides. Concentrated pomegranate juice (like a syrup). Celtic sea salt. Coffee (black, unsweetened), tea (green, matcha, oolong), anything with flavonols. I uses spices all the time as they all offer their own nutritive and even medicinal benefits. So no one particular thing to address one particular thing. For me it is more about eating for health, and less about a particular health objective. I have a few things I am working on, but they are being addressed with multi pronged approach. By eating with overall health in mind, some of the objectives start to sort themselves out. Having a good foundation of nutrients will provide more tools for the body to heal with. Give the whole body a chance. I hope you are able to get some traction on what is going on with you. It is daunting to try to figure it out and how to start. For overall approach on how are body works and what it needs, I really like watching (and reading) Dr. William Li

@@CMarie404 Amen. Thanks for writing it down for me (and other people). I have generally a good idea of how my body works and what it needs, I also work as a health coach. Yes, both collagen and hyaluronic acid provide raw materials for the skins structure and moisture. But with varicose veins more co-factors are needed such as the flavanoids I shared here. These are always found in leaves, peels, fruits and veggies. 💚
