Was a ford owner for over 40 years, bought 15 new over the years. Bought a 2018 f150 2.7 EcoBoost started out great, being a low mileage driver, at 5 years only 12,200 miles, direct injection went bad. Cost me $2400. At dealer to get repaired. Sold that POS. Bought a 2008 highlander, 1.5 years later runs great, no problems. No more fords for me.

So I have some food for thought! When we talk about reliability, is it the flaw of the manufacture and their design and all their engineering intuitive? Is it the fault that we can’t get good reliable parts to build a vehicle? Or is it the people on the assembly line That don’t care anymore about integrity of their work or quality of their work? It’s just quantity and drawing a paycheck? Or is it all of the above that makes our vehicles in the in the US, some of the worst built products? Because a lot of these products used to be made overseas and shipped into us and as you’re talking and giving these reports, it’s not the overseas companies that are hurting. They’re the US companies that are hurting so what really is making our vehicles, unreliable and not good quality? Food for thought!

I drive a 2017 Mitsubishi outlander sport AWD. I brought it in 2022. It had 71K on it. I have 105K on it now. It's holding up. I drive on the highway more. Why didn't Kia and Hyundai not make this list. Their engine caught on fire, and the transmissions are bad.

I'm surprised Mini isn't on this list... BMW getting rid of the manual transmission on them starting with the current 2025 models will be the death knell for Mini.

What about Benz and VW? I bought an S-Class decades ago and the thing was built like a tank. Never had a problem. The newer ones are junk. VW's have had a multitude of problems lately. $70k for a new VW Bus? I wouldn't touch one until reliability is proven. Range could be improved also.

Ford stopped making good cars in the 90s. I have a 2014 Ford focus, n not even owned it 3 months and there were 4 recalls on it. Then they're having trouble with trucks, broncos, and just about anything else they produce. I u see to love Ford. Somebody needs to ask car makers HOWS PRODUCING JUNK WORKING OUT FOR YA. if I were a car maker I would build my cars by hand and make sure they dont rust, or fail in anyway for at least 20 years.i can't believe that car makers stopped making cars with quality n durability. If I could produce a car,it would have tobe a perfect car before I even let it leave the factory. Cars nowadays are made to last about 50,000 miles n thats about it. If I were car makers I wouldn't put my name on none of the junk they're turning out now.

Mitsubishi's downfall is particularly disappointing. My first new car was a Mitsu Mirage, an '85 Turbo. A fun little car that didn't cost me whole lot out the door. It died before it reached 100k, but I chalked that up to my driving style. I was a young buck with an attitude, and I spun that turbo up far more than was necessary. America needs the Mirage. Or, rather, America needs an affordable small car. Not a performance beast, not something with a lot of bells and/or whistles, just cheap, *reliable* transportation. Where's today's Ford Escort? Entry level Honda Civic Hatchback? Corolla? If they build it, we will come. As $100k "Luxury Pickup Trucks" rot on dealer lots, the people would line up for a Mitsu Mirage priced around 17k.Make it comfortable, make it fun, and make it RELIABLE. They'd sell a ton of 'em. Kee-reist, who's running these companies...?
