It has been a treat watching your videos and chatting outside of YT as well. As a fellow Cirrus pilot and musician, we kinda get each other. Tempted to buy 8FS...

I have always loved watching your video’s Steve. Here I am at 45 and getting close to starting my flight training. I can feel your pain talking about selling your beloved 768FS. I was telling my fiancé that it would be a dream to purchase your plane. I know the amount of pride and care you have in your plane. You are very meticulous and I can only imagine how clean your maintenance logs are. Now, if only I can figure out how my business can pay for it. 😉 Safe travels east. I’ll most certainly be tuning in.

Thanks for the kind words Brandon. And as much as I will miss 8FS when you buy a plane you know that one day you will sell it. And so I've always taken great care of her so that the day I hand the keys to a new owner they could rest assure that she still looks and flies like the first time I took her up in the air. Maybe that will be you. Cheers-Ren

Brandon, not sure where you are based, but maybe consider shared ownership that is of this century.

I know my reply comes very late. But after seeing this video I’m compelled to tell you don’t do it. I am 89 years old and I have been flying GA for over 70 years all over the world after more than 11,000 hours PIC, I still get a unique feeling of exhilaration whenever the wheels with the ground. I know on a to place Grumman airplane and fly that or others almost every day of my life. I feel I can continue to fly. I have experience lol the wonders of the world until, I can no longer meet medical certification requirements. If you have not yet sold a FS you may want to think again. I know it would be fun for me to speak to you about flying we were of winds and the benefits received. So, if you have any interest at all, please try to get in contact with me, and perhaps we can share a few words about the mysteries of being masters of our own destiny’s.

I'm not retiring from flying that's for sure andI'm still going to post videos even after we sell 8FS. I've got hundreds of hours of flight video from 8FS flight that are unedited and I'm sure I'll be posting lots of flight videos recorded on the sim as well as some more real world flights albeit it from another SR22T. In fact, recording flights and then editing on the sim is 10X faster than what I've been posting. So don't worry you'll still have some videos to watch. Thanks for watching and posting. Cheers-Ren

Had a friend who flew a Bonanza into his mid 80's. He was a poor farmer in West Texas and owned a couple of cotton gins (and I can't remember how much land). Sharp as a tack and a good pilot. Really enjoyed the video!

I'm not done flying yet that's for sure. But a plane like 8FS needs to fly alot more than 100 hours a year to make sense from an operating pov. I've racked up alot of hours in my short flying time but the truth is my days of flying 225 plus hours a year are behind me. Alot of those hours were spent really learning to fly and the truth is alot of that repetitive skilll training I can do now on my sim so that when I do fly I'm still sharp and its not costing anything for gas, insurance, maintenance, etc. Thanks for posting. Cheers-Ren

I am a bit saddened to hear that you are giving up your Cirrus. I hope, as I think you alluded to, this does not mean you are giving up your wings. One very minor question regarding your CAPS cover. I have been taught to remove the pin and the cover. Like you I put the pin with the read flag on that little tray on top of the dash. But I leave the CAPS cover off. I see you putting it back on. Just curious to learn your reason for it. Since it is a requires placard I am always a bit paranoid losing it.
@TheRenBaron Жыл бұрын
First off I'm not giving up flying...just ownership of a plane. With regards to the CAPS cover I do put it back on the last 2 velcro fasteners so that the handle is exposed enough to see and in an emergency I'd be able to access easily and not lose it in the plane. I'm not particularly worried about its required placard status to be honest since I've been the only pilot flying the plane. Cheers-Ren
