DESCRIPTION:
Welcome to the Mat Workout Series. These workouts will work your entire body using functional combination moves as well as targeted muscle group focused exercises. Some of the workouts are pure body weight and others use equipment such as ankles weights and a resistance loop to intensify the moves. Although these workouts are on the mat, they will thoroughly work your muscles and even get your heart rate up at times.
In Mat Workout Ankle Weights you will work mainly your lower body and abs with unique Pilates style combination moves. The ankle weights will intensify all of your favourite mat exercises. You will see a lying abs series to warm up, leg rotations and extensions, outer thigh raises, clams and bend presses, table top glute raises and a tough front of thigh and inner thigh series to finish. There are long lever moves as well as pulses to fully fatigue each muscle group before moving on. You will finish with a lengthening stretch.

Okay, I'm going to just tell the truth. I had serious second thoughts about doing your workout because I thought it might be too girlish, too easy. This is my third video of yours and, we're being honest here, I have yet to follow along without pausing and moaning in agony, surprise, delight, and head shaking wonder that I ever doubted you in the first place. Exercise is not new to me; I'm pretty fit. But your workouts are challenging and creative. And most of all, excellent for my behind - literally and figuratively. I love 'em. Thank you so much.

I so appreciate all of your videos and your style of exercising. I have a foot injury that has forced me to adjust the way I workout. You have taught me that I can still build strength and train my muscles without lifting heavy. I'm so thankful to have found you!

I really like this type of exercises, I call them "pumping" :D. I did them without ankle weights as those hurt my knees. Thanks to working out with you, I, after many many years, felt OK showing my legs this summer :). Apart from all the other benefits that I had mentioned many times before. This caught my interest, even though I don't have ankle weights. Well, I def. didn't need any! The burn was intense, and felt really different from lifting burn. I have the impression that this type of exercise will result in leaning out my muscles (I've bulked up a bit in my lower half from lifting); I will come back to it. Thank-you!!

I did this video this morning, and felt the intense muscle soreness after lunch when running upstairs....and going downstairs was even worse :) I used a total of 4 lbs ankle weights. Thanks Linda.

Fantastic!! This reminded me of some of your older, classic pilates mat workouts (like long lean legs). I loved how you still incorporated a little arm work. I think my favorite exercise was in the glute series- the leg lift on stomach and push up into all fours for another lift. I loved all off the angles in the different exercises though! I did this after the Shape It Bosu. Thanks for a great workout!

Awww, sweet burn!))) Definitely felt it, almost immediately! Also half-way through it, I realized I must have been more sore after yesterday's fusion mat workout that I initially thought) Loved that you added arm work here as well. Also love how by mixing it in some new combinations or adding some variation/twist you make these classic exercises look new every time :-)

Thank you Linda! This was 'brutal' as everyone below has said. But burns so good in the thighs and glutes. I struggled with the hip flexor stuff at the beginning though. I seem to get so much pain there.

you mean the leg scissors? Hip flexors take a while to get stronger, but they eventually do. Standing leg raises with ankle weights on can really help to strengthen them

I just completed it and it was tough! I've never done Pilates before so this was definitely not a beginners workout. I did it without the ankle weights and modified a lot. I'm going to do some of her beginners videos for a couple of weeks before I attempt this one again.

Omg what part of me doesnt hurt and I did this with 5lb weights on each leg🤔😣😣😣 this works EVERYTHING my butt and legs hurt even today and I did this workout from Friday🤕🤕

Yesterday, I bought a pair of 2.5 kg. ankle weights. I thought I was going to die at some point, it felt so intense and hard. Had to stop several times, to be honest. But here I am, still alive!

Anytime I do any kind of leg lift movements my hip pops. It doesn't hurt, but the feel and sound is disturbing. Do you think doing these pilates/barre workouts will somehow help this issue?

yes, they will definitely help to strengthen that area. I have that with one hip as well. Changing the angle of your leg does help. I find that when I turn my knee out it is less 😀

I do mostly body weight or light weights toning workouts. I do a lot of functional training and compound moves. I also do a lot of dancing which is my cardio and some rebounding. I workout A LOT as it is my job and passion. Everyone is very different so it is important to find what works for you. Some people can do very little cardio, but others need to do more to burn fat. 😊
