No it's the Mid West but he's right, most Cincinnatians have an odd sort of southern drawl to their voice. We are heavily influenced by the South Eastern states. The Cincinnati accent is closer to that of Kentucky, Tennessee, or West Virginia than that of other Mid-Westerm cities.

My Grandparents grew up south of Provo and Salt Lake City, they had what some people call a "Nephi accent" Nephi is the name of a LDS prophet FYI. They replace words with was and isn't proper grammar. It's one of those things that you recognize when you hear it's kind of hard to explain. Also I forgot exactly what it sounds like 😂. The Michigan Girl makes me so proud. I can tell she's a Detroiter. When she was talking about the GPS, lots of Detroiters/Michiganders mispronounce words like "Lahser", "Dequindre", and "Gratiot", which are all street names. We also add "s" at the end of words like "Fords", "Meijers", and "Chryslers". Lastly, we say "milk" really weird (usually in the SW and up north). They say it like "melk". It’s just less intense in the rest of mass. As an outsider that lived there for many years you can most definitely hear the difference. It’s just less noticeable in other places, especially if you’re raised there.

I grew up in Eastern WA and am not exactly young and I never once can recall anyone adding an r in Washington. Is that a western WA thing?

The Nebraska one was pretty accurate even tho it was like a split second clip. The Midwest always pronounces their “i’s” as “e’s.” So a lot of times you’ll here “melk” instead of “milk” or “begal” instead of “bagel.” But it also depends on the area because to the world all we are is an American accent
