1. When you said: "pangalan mo" I could immediately understand it . In Javanese, "pangaran mu" or simply "aran mu" means the same as pangalan mo. "pangaran" from the basic word "aran" means "name". "mu" means "you/your". This word is now usually used to refer things or stuff but sometimes it's still used to refer human. 2. Your pronounciation for "tulong" is exactly the same as we do in Javanese language and it also refers to the same meaning. 3. Oh I just found another similar word, it's "kalimutan" which means forget. . In Javanese, it has the base word "limut" means forget. With affix 'ka-an', "kalimutan" means "occupied with forgetfulness". This word isn't used on daily basis but we still understand it. It's still used in literature tradition though. 4. I re-watched this video and found out that "gawin" is also similar to base word "gawe" in Javanese which means "to do/ to work/ to make". It can also be developed to "gawean" means "work" (noun) and sounds pretty simillar to "gawin" in Filipino. 5. Babayin (traditional Phillippine script), is developed from Kawi, a script that was developed in Java to write Old Javanese. 6. A list of some similar words: Filipino-Javanese labi=lambe=lips putol=puṭhul=cut off utak=utak=brain giling=giling=grind langit=langit= sky hangin=angin=wind mata=mata=eye mulat [to open one's eye]=mulat [to see carefully] pisak=picek=blind of one eye ulan=udan=rain bathala=bathara=god lawa=rawa=lake titi=titit=penis puki=puki=vagina apoy=apuy=fire daliri=dariji/driji=finger talampakan=talapakan/telapakan/dlamakan=sole mabilis=aglis/ gelis= fast kidlat=kilat= lightning inom=inum= drink talong=tales= taro kuko=kuku=finger nail pako=paku= nail sa loob=salebet [high language]= within/ inside magpakain=makani/pakakake= feed upa=upah=salary/payment kupkop [kept and protected under one's care]=kukup [to embrace/kept and protected under one's care] halang=alang=to barricade pangko [to carry in one's arms] =pangku [to sit on someone's lap] uban=uban/uwan= gray hair tulog=turu=sleep balik=balik=go back

@Indoraptor Rex but in the Philippines, some people are more comfortable with English than Filipino language or taglish (a combination of Filipino and English words) specially those who come from a well-known Family, even Filipino celebrities find it really hard to speak Fluent Filipino and English has been the priority than Filipino language, however it has its own good because it makes the Philippines more globally competitive.

I advise that you should practice reading tagalog books, and also get english sentences and try translating it by yourself, and see if you did a good job with making sentences in tagalog. Are you going to study there? I have alot of advice for you and id like to share some things that i know about schooling in the philippines and how the people are like :) Dont be scared theyre actually really nice people

Pinoy ako, totoo naman nakakalito ang ikinagagalak kitang makilala, why ask her to delete her comment? Ikinagagalak means i am happy Kitang makilala means to meet you. So you can use masaya instead for happy.. "masaya akong makilala ka" means i am happy to meet you.

Filipino and English are the two national languages of the Philippines; Tagalog is a language native to the northern region. Yes, those are two different languages. A Tagalog speaker can easily understand Filipino, but a Filipino speaker cannot easily comprehend Tagalog.

I'm was born in the Philippines but I was raised in Canada for most my life and so I got used to speaking English than my own language and I'm a bit ashamed that everyone else in my family can speak tagalog/bisaya except me and I feel a bit left out when my cousins speak tagalog and I can't respond back in tagalog because I just got used to speaking in english that I can't even talk back in my own language so watching this is helping me slowly getting better at trying to speak tagalog

I want to learn many more languages but this is all I can learn at the moment) I hope Filipinos can appreciate our culture and language.

Pagpaumanhinan mo o ipagpatawad mo ay magkatulad na nangangahulugang "I'm sorry" o "Excuse me" katulad ng sa Nihonggo na "sumimasen" na maaaring maging "I'm sorry" o "Excuse me" depende sa kung ano ang ibig mong sabihin. 11:47 the tagalog translation should be "pakikuha na ang bill natin para makaalis na tayo" because the first word in the english sentence is "please" so the tagalog translation should come in a requesting form, not imperative form. "paki-" is a tagalog prefix that is used when you want to request something, which also means "please" in english.

CR or Comfort Room is "Palikuran" but most of us Filipinos were already used in saying "Banyo" which is originally Spanish, Bill is "Bayarin" and "Trabaho" is originally "Hanap Buhay" in Filipino because "Trabaho" came from the Spanish word "Trabajo." 😁 Some Spanish words that we've adopted were considered as part of our language because there's no equivalent word for those.🇵🇭

The overlap is interesting. Supposedly, 20-33% of Tagalog is from Spanish origins. For instance, "demasiado" means "too much" in Spanish. But in Tagalog, "masyado" means "too much". They dropped the "de" from Spanish. However, "di masyado" (or "hindi masyado") means "Not too much". The "Di" is a shortened version of "Hindi", which means "No".

The formal form of most of these phrases can simply be just adding a "po" at the end so it's easier to remember while still being acceptable. Ex. "kamusta ka po?" and "kamusta po kayo" means the same
