Yes, definitely! When I became impatient with the process it helped keep me focussed on the end goal. I was pleasantly surprised the day I had the last of the dye cut off. My hair looked and felt better than I ever expected.

Just found your channel and I'm really loving it. I'm 72 and started going gray from having dyed hair from the first month of the pandemic. One of the best things I ever did. And like you said I look so much better and it's so more flattering to have that softness around your face rather than the dark color.

@kbc188327 күн бұрын
This made me cry. So many of these women helped me tremendously as I struggled to make the decision and go through the transition from dark brown to my natural silver. My long, think, curly dark hair was always my most obvious and talked about feature. The name I was given in sign language was the sign for B while making the motion for curly hair. So my dark hair was literally part of my identity. I've had grey hairs since I was 5 and started dying my hair at 22, right at the same time I got married, cut my long hair off, and gained 80 lbs in one year. At 46, I started unearthing myself after being buried in many ways for years. Going to my natural silver was one of my first steps. It was this community of women who kept me going when the skunk stripe was in its worst phase and when I was adjusting to no longer being a brunette, which had been such a part of my identity. Thank you all who went before me and shared your journeys. And BTW, I get compliments on my curly silver slightly less thick due to menopause hair all the time! The most surprising group who comments on it is young men LOL.
@KatieGoesPlatinum8 күн бұрын
I’m so happy that things have worked out so beautifully for you with your gray hair. And that this community was able to be there for you. ♥️ I’ve noticed that young men are some of the biggest fans of gray hair - and older men and young women too!

Hi Katie, I've often thought about maybe letting my hair grow out to its gray ... but for all the reasons you mention on your videos, I gave up. I've only tried twice .. but thought about it many many times. I'm 61 and have been blessed with younger genes, so I've been told ;) But now I am noticing some aging on my face and skin and want to embrace it. I saw your video on the dye stripe method and I think it may be fantastic ... I've decided I'm going to give it a try ;) Thanks a bunch!! Donna from Ontario

I was a brunette with pale skin and eyes. In my 30's went blonde. I went brunette one more time about 6 years ago but far too difficult to keep. I'm 6 months no colour and what shocks me is how dark my hair is with lovely silver highlites around my face. I wish that I had never coloured my hair as I would have enjoyed years of the deep shade that I so missed. 🩶
@GLI053110 ай бұрын
@@1ajtg I’m similar, spent years hiding lovely dark brown hair under various colours of hair Dye! Thankfully dark and gray look great together. Not used dye in 8 months.

Idk if they look "younger" necessarily, but they all do look better. Maybe bc the hair dye wasn't complimentary to their complexions. That's an important question... Do we want to look like we're trying to look younger... or Do we want to look like our best most vibrant version of ourselves as we age?
@KatieGoesPlatinum3 ай бұрын
That’s a great and important question!

They all look better, but the grey made most of them look older imo.
@kanjacat6 ай бұрын
So crazy how long this myth lasted, that grey hair makes you look older. Actually, aging authentically and gracefully is empowering. Why do we try so hard to look younger? It only ends up looking fake. I embraced my white hair at age 55 and never looked back. Like all hair, you just need to take proper care of it and of course it will look great!
@Shyann17 ай бұрын
I will say this, when some women lie about their age it's absurd. The women who do that are in denial and aren't being authentic 😄👌
