I remember buying a handful of the first generation of Master Replicas Force FX models years ago. It's amazing how far light sabers have come since then. Man for real lol. As kids we got the collapsible plastic blades that were painted one of three colors haha. If I got one of these I would’ve been grateful as hell. Now as an adult I can enjoy the $500+ sabers 😂.

The Og Hasbro sabers for for under 20 bucks that you could't see through were great! It definitly was very cool to have a colapsable sabers too. Don't know how much I would have liked a solid blade as a kid tbh. The stupid thing was that hasbro replaced those with sabers that aren't nearly as durable or well constructed for some reason. After 2010 it was more or less impossible to get the good ones.

@@boto2792 it's an LGT saber, it's a Chinese company that mass produces these sabers, they range from 50 to 200 USD, from what I could find in AliExpress. Go to AliExpress and search for lightsaber, you will find 50 dollar ones that say something like RGB saber 16 colors or something like that. Those are the LGT ones even if they don't say so in the ads. They will most likely just say they are the brand of the reseller.

I have the CFX Neo Reaver from Sabertrio and a GHv3 Bane from Saberforge. I immediately noticed the difference in build quality when my Saberforge Bane arrived after my Sabertrio Reaver. I love the aesthetics of the Bane, but in terms of build quality, the Reaver is far superior. Whether that is due to the Bane being a curved hilt and having a lot of long "claw" pieces, perhaps. But most striking is the sound quality between the two. The Reaver has a very low bass hum and sounds amazing, whereas the Saberforge Bane definitely sounded like a low grade tweeter with no bass whatsoever. Both sabers were similarly priced, although my Reaver was acid etched, so that added to the price. So to me, if you are going for build quality, I would recommend Sabertrio. But I think Saberforge has some of the coolest lightsaber hilt designs available.

One thing I think is kind of good about the $50 saber is that it's great to customize. Aging or adding a wrap/grip is a great way to make a saber feel more like yours, but no way am I doing any of that with a $500 saber. You can even add a better soundboard (I think). I wonder if you can change the light too?

Technically, yes you can as the hilt is just a hollow tube, so yeah you could replace the bulb and blade for neo pixel, and or the sound board.

I have that same cheap saber that I got from rebel sabers. The draw for me was the customization I could do. I weathered it and took a dremel to it and it’s amazing. I do have my bors the dragon slayer on its way though haha.

I ordered a Saberforge Bane MK2 Neopixel DIY kit for $259 and the blade was $99. Doesn't seem too bad in the grand scheme of things since they're relatively easy to put together, I don't have to wait 6-12 months and I spent $300+ less than I typically would have. Haha

The expensive models are really great, but there's no way I'm paying that much for what is essentially a toy. I do cosplay and Jedi/Sith is an old standard. The cheaper models are a lot more limited, but I'm just looking to get my picture taken, not defend the galaxy. XD

Lets be fair here. If you want to compare $50 to $500 make it a $500 of same blade type. Neopixel vs in hilt lighting is like comparing speeds of a Honda Accord stock vs Ferrari. Same idea (not of same class and not a fair comparison). Love to know whatever the cheapest of the major players blades of same blade type against it and see a fair review that way. But love seeing a Cadillac type saber vs a unicycle lol. Does show what you can get out there. I want one that shows proper ignition and off.

I absolutely agree that the $50 saber is a great trick/dueling saber, but be warned that you still have to be careful when doing advanced spins because dropping it a top speeds will utterly destroy the wires on the inside. Also the screws love to strip so that's fun.

Things are cheaper for a reason. Generally cheaper stuff would not surpass an expensive stuff. Personally i feel that in terms of value, the cheap lightsaber might be better. You get more out of the cheaper lightsaber per dollar than the expensive one. But at the end of the day, the difference in price is for people to judge themselves which is worth it and what price point can they afford. Also it highly depends on what people are buying them for. For people that knows what they want, just want a very good lightsaber and can afford it. The expensive one is the way to go. For people that just want to make a budget cosplay or to mess around with, the cheaper one is the way to go. Also, neopixel are less suitable for actual dueling than a RGB one and that is also dependant on the quality/price of the blade as well.

I honestly like the idea of rgb lightsabers because neopixel sound like they could break at anytime, especially the blade. I like the look, but replacement blades are like $50

They should make lightsabers that you can put kyber crystals into, and the crystals have some sort of RFID tag in them that the saber can read and determine the color/profile from. That way you could buy a Kylo Ren cracked crystal, and see the cracked crystal, insert it, and the color would switch to red, and enable the unstable profile.

it is if you don't expect 500-600 dolar quality i have soemj cheap chinese stuff even legos rc cars they catching up really well to bigger companies like the HBX 16889a or the HBX hailstorm they are prety tough rc bashers in a snalalr 16th 18th scale more durable than traxas and other brands for the price also these coems with brushless motors by default the 16889 has metal pinion wheels and aluminium oil filed shock absorbers

hey semz i just bought recently 2 sabers from different companies. in my opinion they are both probably low-mid range (pricewise). & baselit. one of which was a replica of luke's from ROTJ (my absolute favorite btw) which i''ll be taking to comicon this year its bult really well & easy to use ect. i got it from Reflekt sabers. & in my opinion its awesome nice & bright & well made. have you used reflekt? what are your opinions?

How does the 50 bucker stack up sparring. ? I just baught 2 of them locally from a guy who wouldnt tell me where he got them from just how good they are. I spent 250 CAD on 2 of them. ( I do Hema ) He claims u can run it over with a car and it will be fine. IM not entirely sure i believe that. Whats your opinion ? I have the exact TXQ one. ( 2 of them ) just charging them I just got them home and was able to gather up enough info to find them online . Perhaps in a video you can do a durability test ? I Spar with a longsword and armour.
