6.0 Ford Diesel IPR Valve Replacement
In this video I have a 2006 6 Liter diesel that customer complaint was vehicle stalled while driving and was a crank no start until it cooled off. I pulled code P2623 IPR circuit open and truck started right up for me. Join me on this journey and I will share with you my conclusion and how to make the repair the easiest way. Hardest part for me, I had a ipr insulated cover with the button on it, took me about a solid hour to get that stupid thing back on. Also I have the cheap Amazon kit for air testing, (not the socket, I have the lisle) the ipr fitting is garbage. I’ve seen other complaints about it as well. The threads are extremely rough. The icp fitting was okay though. Air tested though that. Love your 6.0 videos.

Thank you very much and I appreciate your feedback. To be honest I cannot imagine air testing through the IPR port because it is a pain in the butt to get out and to what air check it. I can air test it from the valve cover. Thanks for watching I appreciate it.

That FICM connector looks like a huge pain.

It can be for sure, had one one time that didn't get back connector on all the way and truck would not start. Thank you for watching.

Great vid! Do you use the Topdon scan tool on Diesels? I have a new Thinkcar and am amazed at how much this tool can do. Would not be a Sunday evening without a great vid by Tone!

Careful how tight you torque the IPR down. I over tightened it trying to face the connector away from the turbo and tore the oring. Took several weeks to fully separate and leave me stranded. Don’t quote me but I think according to the book it’s only like 12ft lbs. Might also be a good idea to oil the green oring before installing. Correction. It’s 19-21 lbs.

Thank you for your feedback, that is crazy I cannot imaging over tightening IPR. I only put Motorcraft IPR so it is already oiled. Thank you for watching
