6.9/7.3 IDI First Gen Banks/ATS 093 Hybrid Turbo set up

Here we have a 6.9 Diesel me and a friend did a rebuild on for his Bullnose F250. Engine started with 4 bad pistons and blown head gaskets. Now we have a freshened up 6.9, studded, with a interesting turbo set up that I'm fairly certain has never been tried before. ATS 093 hotside, with a first Gen Banks pedistal and charger. The engine will soon be installed in the truck and running. We will report back with data and other general updates on the project. Stay tuned!!

Super cool to find this video. I bought this kit from you or whoever owned it most recently, rebuild the turbo, and am currently putting it on a 91 f250. Got all the piping in just need to fit a downpipe, it’s gonna be a squeeze! It’s a sweet setup!

Did you buy it from a guy in upstate PA or lower NY? My buddy sold the truck before we could ever finish it. Was always curious if anyone ever got it going. Was in a blue 86’ F250 extended cab.

I know this video is old but how did the mod on the up pipes do? Was this a very noticeable or would you just run the stock one with opened up exhaust?

I was thinking you had a banks hybrid like me, mines truly hybrid between the banks and ats 093, it’s got a banks compressor housing machined out to fit a garret 60-1 wheel, 360 bearings in a factory chra, with ats 093 downpipe housing and downpipe. Instant near instant boost to 15+

Got one dem Gen1 banks taking apart now, one you have curves toward the pass side of truck mine curves to the drivers side and have not got the mo-fo out yet, even the up pipe was beat almost flat to fit up in there, got my fire wrench ready just need a big fire extinguisher!

Those first gen banks have so many different variations. 2wd, 4wd, truck, Van, etc. complicated things further with doing a custom set up

The up pipe is only feeding the turbo with 4 cylinders good luck making any power with that lol
