😅 hello I just had to tell you that I've listened to your video twice and I really have enjoyed it it's nice to see somebody not edit out parts that mess up or seem awkward thank you for being the real you which is by the way fabulous I think your artwork is beautiful and it comes from your heart has anybody could see would love to see more of this type of a video about taking time for our art and not feeling bad about it I always feel I have to get all my work done before I can do my art and therefore don't make time for it but now that I'm older and mostly retired I am finally giving myself permission to do my art whenever I feel like it it is such a blessing and as you say I wish I had known this earlier I am amazed at your age that you have thought this through so well and yes I hope we all keep on our Journeys and stay true to ourselves no matter what the world throws at us or says about us creativity brings such joy in life I pray every soul out there connect with they're real self early in life God bless you and everyone seeking this journey

Ohh what a lovely comment to receive, my heart is full!! It means so much when someone resonates with the things I talk about and to know that I'm not alone with my thoughts and outlook on things is the biggest blessing. I'm so grateful that you're here and that you watched. I hope deeply that you prioritize your creativity now. Your art and what you create is a gift to the world and society, it connects and heals and brings more color into our lives. Thank you again for your kindness and words. Sending you all my love, gratitude and creative energies!!♥️🌼🌻

I could not agree more with every word. So much of this video resonated with me too. I too am retired and also need to give myself permission to simply play as I am a beginner. I have subscribed having glanced through all the available videos. And I so agree about her beautiful artwork coming from within, what I believe to be a very wise head on young shoulders. 💜👩🏻‍🎨🎨🖌️

I had a couple of year's rest period as well, I thought I was done with being creative over the more practical things in life, but I'm back now 🎉 Born creative, always creative I guess 😂 Thanks for sharing your beautiful thoughts ❤

Haha this is so lovely and in an odd way comforting to read!! It just shows that we can be without our art for a long time, thinking we've lost interest, but in the end we just needed a proper break. Thanks for telling me this, I'll remember it!! Hope you're having a wonderful time with your creativeness now, the world needs your light 🤗

I love to collect art supplies so I have a stack of supplies and I am not getting much art done. I am a perfectionist. Thank you for addressing this. Just found your channel and I love it.😊

Thank you so much for your kind words and for sharing a piece of yourself with me. Ahh I know perfectionism too well. The only thing for me is that no matter how hard I try, I never get anything perfect. Knowing that, I've managed to let go (a little haha) of that expectation. It's also comforting to know that perfectionism doesn't really exist within art, because people like different things. Something that might be perfect for one set of eyes, might be total chaos or displeasing to another. I hope you'll find the art and style that satisfies you, because that is the most important at the end of the day. And then the right audience will come to you (if you want others to see your work ofc.) It's hard and this is my daily struggle as well. But small wins of facing and overcoming perfectionism bring me hope that I'll be able to create more freely and in tune with myself in the future. Sending much love!!

Thank you for your very helpful tips!🙂 I, too, am surrounded by art supplies and spent years perfecting my craft rather than giving my own imagination a chance. Coincidentally, I've just started to read Elizabeth Gilberts book 'Big Magic' which is equally going along similar lines. So perhaps I've stumbled upon your channel as another stepping stone in my own art journey. ❤ x

Ohh thank you for sharing your story with me!! And I'm so happy to hear that you're venturing into the world of imagination and joy regarding creativity, and stepping away from perfectionism and fear. it brings me so much hope and courage to continue my own journey. Thank you for that. I don't know if you use/know about discord. But I've created a group there where many beautiful creatives share a similar journey. You'd fit right in so I'll leave the link here if you'd like to have a look. But no pressure ofc. Sending much love and all the creative energies!! Discord server: discord.gg/sDACwJ8n

Usually, I watch KZbin videos while creating myself, so I like a video and move on. But now I put my pencil down as I wanted to say, thank you. It was a very good video, with great spirit and tips. And yes, I would love to hear and see more videos like this, I do not think you're rambling, you have a lovely voice and good thoughts to share. Bits of wisdom and self-reflection that make others think is never a bad thing. So I say, get rid of the timer next time haha!

Lovely tips, Frederike! Love the use of imagery as you explained the tips and it's so important to stay true to yourself and not compare yourself to others. The art one creates shouldn't be the same as the next person. Someone once said to me that the painting that doesn't sell doesn't mean it's bad, it just hasn't been found by the person who loves it yet. Hope you & your partner and the doggies are having a great week!

Hello Donna and thank you!! I love that: that there isn't bad art, it just hasn't been found by the right person yet. That is so true and shows that the creative journey is a very individual experience and you can never please everyone. Which again is a liberating thought!! I'm sorry I haven't visited you in a while. I've just been absent from the internet apart from when I post my videos and do the livestreams. I hope you're doing great, seeing beautiful wildlife, and enjoying this summer with your loved ones. I'm truly grateful for you and your lovely comments!! Hugs 🤗☀🌺

A nice chat Frederike (the Y) it’s the thing that keeps you going and indeed got you going in the first place so cool you found out this truth too 😊👌🏻 Also it’s so important to allow yourself the space to do what you love (at least equally with other things) that’s a good point you made too 👍 Enjoyed as always 🙏🏼 Best wishes Simon 🤠👍

Aaaaah haha.... Been there done that. Great advice though. But the thing is, anyone could have told us that long ago. The problem is, most people are stubborn.... we can't learn from other peoples mistake. We have to repeat those same mistakes in order to learn from it. "Seeing is believing" - and until we do, any advice is just words from a crazy old person, haha.... Have a great Sunday my friend. Watching from Shanghai.... Thomas

Great and interesting reflection ! Indeed creativity may not be 'killed' by techniques there must always be a lot of space for our spontaneity and staying true to ourselves no matter what other people find of our artwork , thàt's important too . Living life as it feels the most comfortable to ourself that's an achievement in itself 😉. I wish you beautiful days now nature is at its best and the days are longer 🍀ps your doggies look so cuddly 🥰

During the last few years, I photographed so much in a short period. I exhausted myself. I began questioning why I was doing this; I really didn't care if I ever photographed again. I had to rest. Probably I forced myself into rest. I put down my camera for a few weeks

Hello and first off I apologize sincerely for answering you so late. I've completely missed your comment. Thank you for writing to me though, and for sharing your experience! I hope that by taking time off and going through this ''forced'' rest, that you came out the other end excited and and eager to photograph again. It's obvious that photography called you for a reason, I have no doubt you're very good at it! Sending you all the good, creative vibes to return to your craft whenever the time is right. I truly appreciate you writing to me!

May we write via email? Thanks for replying. I'd love if we could share our work. ? Yes, I recovered from last year's photography in overdrive. This year I have found my cell phone as a new picture method. These photos seem to have pivoted toward some more inner personal story telling. I have returned to my DSLR with a zoom lens.

Hi from Asheville, my NC. How is your 2nd Sunday of August going? My day is going well. I got some house stuff done. I also started culling my music CDs. I was looking for music of groups to which I danced (contra dancing). I am lending them to my peer support care manager. She is from Brattleboro, Vermont. One of the groups I danced to is from there.@@ATravelerOfWorlds

This is a beautiful video, thanks for sharing 😊 I would like most to make something- sculpting, making a wooden cabinet (that looks gorgeous), then paint it. For me, even painting is unadulterated joy. It’s difficult for me, though, because the contrast between that mode of being and the mundane reality is unbearable. Ugliness makes me (feel) literally sick.
