i had 2 sets of braces!! first time (3rd grade... yes, i had all my adult teeth) was to bring my teeth together and second set (6th grade) to bring in my over-bite. people always asked why i had braces SO early. my overbite was bad to the point where my dentist and parents were scared that if i fell on the playground that i would knock out my adult teeth. i was bullied because i was literally the ONLY ONE with braces. i got them off in 8th grade and it was life changing. i just finished my freshman year of college and my teeth are a number one factor of the compliments i get. i promise you this journey will all be worth it and you will feel on top of the world💝 also this LEWK is fantastic 🤩

omg I'm a dental technician so I make like veneers and crowns for people that can't just get braces or have other dental issues. I just want to say that, aesthetically, having a big smile is actually really good. It makes you look healthy. Having that gap between your cuspid and incisors is also pretty okay so that those lower cuspids will fit and everything slides into place the *right way*. People only ever see braces as something that only helps appearances but uh having straight teeth is important as you age. All teeth will wear down, but crooked teeth and especially bad bites will create a higher risk to developing all sorts of major dental health issues later in life as this natural, inevitable wear happens. I don't know why I'm writing this, but I'm happy for you girl.

Thanks for the update! I’ve had my braces for almost 7 weeks, I can’t wait for my week 8 appt! You’re progress is great! Being 33 with braces makes me a little apprehensive when meeting new ppl, but they always think I’m in my early 20s bc of them 🤣 I’m trusting the process! Definitely water picks are a great addition and I feel like my teeth are moving faster now that I use it (as opposed to only floss and brushing). Keep up the great progress! ❤️

You look adorable with your braces. I had mine in last year for only 3 months at the tender age of 36. My teeth moved so fast in position, myself and the Dr was stunned!!!! I only had one on my upper teeth and wore the thinnest wire there is. Im wearing my retainer every night when I go to bed. Its the best thing I ever did for myself hence I am so regretful that I didn't do it sooner!!!! Good luck with the rest of your journey!

My hubby had braces growing up for a couple years! He had the bar across his palate and, and had to have the 'key' turned 5 rotations - he said it was SOOO painful!! He had a front tooth gap that disappeared overnight! But now his teeth are perfect and dentists fawn over him every time he goes to the dentist. He says it was so worth it and thanks his parents for getting them for him. You're an inspiration Brittney and I can't wait to see the result!!

So happy for you! Just make sure you wear your retainers for the rest of your life! I wore mine for 10 years and thought I didn’t need them anymore at age 23 and I ended up starting to grind and clench in my sleep and had to get an acrylic night guard and bottom retainer because my bottoms started going crooked and my top teeth weren’t as wide anymore.

I never thought anything wrong or bad about adult braces. Just that it’s something they can afford or needed now. I was thinking about getting them,even though I had them in the past, my gap opened back up on the side because I didn’t wear my retainer like I should’ve. Remember that. Your retainer will help keep them straight. Even if you wear them just to sleep. WEAR IT😘. I had been thinking about them because I may smile a lot, I’m really insecure about it. After seeing your video when you first got them, decided why not? My cousin just did too and I have the money to so....Do it while I can. I’m getting them Monday! And I love your look today!! Can’t believe you’re posting this the next day after I got my braces ! Did you notice people talking to you differently ? I went and ran a couple errands after getting my braces put on and felt like people would talk to me as if I was a teenager 😂 and it never happens to me, usually people think I’m around 27-29 🤷🏼‍♀️ (doesn’t bother me that much but I think it’s funny how braces can change the age people think you are 😂)

I had adult braces and I felt the same things you are feeling. The first year was the most awkward as far as feeling insecure where your teeth are and gaps. But after that it’s just fine tuning and your smile will look great even with the braces.

I got mine put on when I was 19 and I get them off tomorrow!! I’ve had them for about 18 months and have had to wear rubber bands for about 12 of those. I originally got the clear brackets but ended up having to switch orthos mid treatment because mine left my office and they replaced half of mine with metal ones. The is more noticeable but 100% better!

Just want to give you a heads up, you will most likely have those braces on for at least 6 months longer than they told you. Maybe even a year. Orthodontists are notorious for underestimating (or quoting) the amount of time you will wear them. Your teeth are moving great! Be careful with over shaving as you know you can always take more off but you can’t put it back on😉

I have braces now (although I’m 17). A downside of metal braces is the mouth sores that you get. Like I had them bad the first couple weeks but I still get them a little bit now. I’m still very glad I have them and I get them off on June 12th so I’m super excited.

I had adult braces! Also was envious of beautiful teeth, wax is a life saver. Spacers were AWFUL, rest was nothing. You look forward to appts it's one closer to the off! As an adult you take better care of them. It was 10yrs ago. I had almost 2yrs and I wear my retainers EVERYNIGHT, especially because of the 8G I paid you have to get the straight. Spacers were the worst for me. My teeth were so sensitive it felt like they were all going to fall off 😂 I couldn’t eat anything and I remember one of those days my dad took us took a sandwich shop😂😒

Same! I tried to chew a gummy bear the next day after getting spacers and OH MY GOD, I jumped up bc of the pain! Only blended food or chewing with front teeth for 5 days. But after that braces where a relief actually haha

I had adult braces (got them at 22 off at 24-25) back than I was insecure about them initially. However, looking back I think it's silly because why be insecure of something positive. Its a costly thing to get braces and many who need them wish they could get them as well. I got them older because I was finally able to afford it on my own. Also with meeting people like you mentioned. I started to think why would they judge me for fixing my teeth lol it be weird if they did actually. I eventually started accepting them and loving my braces look. I actually missed them when I got them off! Lol now 10 years later my teeth moved slightly I would get them again if I really wanted to. I still wear my retainer too. What do you think of this whole veener craze? I noticed a lot of influencers skipping the braces and getting these veneers. Not sure how I feel about them.

This is so relatable haha. Got mine on October 9th, also as an adult. The pain, the obsession with other people's teeth, the awkward position of your own teeth (I got a major gap between my front teeth😅), the elastics and even the hanging lower jaw, I've experienced it all by now 😂. I had to get rid of 8 molars bc of overcrowding and will have surgery by the end of this year. Seriously nobody said something about them in the past 10 months, and you know what, you shouldn't give a damn about what they will think/say. All of this is for a good purpose 😊!

I got my braces 3/4 months ago and I can't wait to get them off! There's still some time but I am so impatient😩 Also, my teeth weren't bad either, just my front teeth were gapped. Not the two front ones but the ones next to them, they were gapped (like the one you have, except I had three of those) and I also have an overbite. My bottom teeth are really straight, except for one is just slightly in the back of another so I still had to get braces on them🙄but yeah my teeth overall weren't super bad, just those three gaps that I noticed all the time😩people wouldn't even notice. Every time I would say "I want to get braces cause I have gaps" people would look at me and say "really? you have gaps? let me see!" And then they tell me they never noticed, but I always did. That was the first thing I noticed every time I looked in the mirror and smiled or brushed my teeth.
