This update totally brought me back, after I reset (big mistake) thinking that would help the stagnation I felt I’m finally back to a fun daily routine with this game. And I’m getting to play with friends who have also returned to playing daily

I know there are some stuff that they could've improved like the airport and crafting system, but either way the 2.0 really did a great job reviving the game.

I totally agree with you about the update invigorating the game with freshness! New Horizons 1.0 was like a walking path we all made part of our daily routines for so long. 2.0 is like the moment we decided to go down a different side street or change directions. It's new and exciting but familiar aspects still enrich the experience. Like how all the new crops can still grow side-by-side next to our old friends, the pumpkins. Or how Kapp'n's appearance by the dock makes fishing for those impossible pier fish that much more chill. The rare victory of donating an authentic piece of art becomes even better when I can go directly next door to The Roost and gloat to Brewster about it. The update and DLC compliment the original game without overpowering it. Aya Kyogoku and the entire ACNH team are talent incarnate! (Also, I LOVE how the Brewster cookie got a dedicated shot in your video! It's the secret seventh reason 2.0 is SO GOOD.)

Sorry I’m a bit late to the party! I thought the 2.0 update basically did what I had hoped: bring classic Animal Crossing features back to the game. I’m an old-school fan like you, and even though New Horizons has been more design-focused (and I’m finding how much I love that and making mini-games or redesigning parts of my island), I’m so happy some classic features have returned to the game. Like you said about the villagers, it brings some of the charm of the original back, and helps keep the game exciting for almost everyone. I’m really curious to see where the game is in a year after (probably) no updates!

While I never abandoned it, I did play less after a year of the game, so the most major thing for me about this update is that it got me playing daily again. Not just that, though - it also brought my friends back to the game, so I look forward to the normal events again (since I have people to play them with.) And I love the new story modes we got with getting Brewster, opening Harv’s Island, and best of all, the Happy Home DLC, which I am trying to take my time with so that I don’t finish it too quickly.

So, I was saving this in case you ever asked what’s the most disappointing aspect of the update in Haken’s Islander Corner but there’s no time like the present. I’m kinda disappointed in cooking. For the most part, mechanic-wise, it’s good. I have no complaints that it’s essentially crafting with food. It works really well. It’s what you do with the finished product that’s what’s disappointing, specifically giving cooked items to villagers. Cooking as a feature would be infinitely more useful if the villagers ate food items as opposed to placing them as furniture. It’s well known that giving a villager an item tends to cause them to ruin the aesthetic of their home redecorating. Because food is treated as a decoration, gifting them food will only cause them to put it on display and often, display it poorly. If they would eat the item instead, I would literally cook 10 meals everyday to give as gifts. Also, if villagers at the food, it would make farming and fishing even more important to do as you would need to collect and replenish resources regularly. I don’t have much need for “energy” myself so I have little incentive to cook outside of Nook Mile goals.

Hi. I'm sorry to bother you. I was hoping to join the Haken discord server but it may be locked to patreon members, which I'm not yet a supporter. I tried to verify my phone number but it's asking for a password, which made me think I needed to be a patreon supporter first. If anyone here sees this and can provide guidance, I'd be really appreciative.
