I can play a ton of chords and switch fast and easily between chords, but the strumming patterns have always given me trouble. Help Matt, I hate playing the G Em C and D chords using the shortened finger positions, it just doesn't sound right. Is it OK to use 'normal finger positions for these chords, will I be able to play the songs OK if I do. I am quite good at changing chords the normal way, help, please advise, you are soooo blessed bro (we all are), but may the Lord bless you even more, you're an inspiration

lots of practice! haha to be honest I still struggle with that. I would say start out learning songs that have the same chord pattern and same time..like Our God is an Awesome God. is C, G, D, Em for 2 beats per chord the whole song. Give it a shot!
