Thank you! After many years of trying here and there a little to learn the guitar, I have picked it back up again. Your little tips for beginners helped me get past the discouraged phase tonight of not thinking I have it in me to actually get good at the guitar. I use a nylon pick very thin it makes life and strumming up and down easier

i love playing without a pick. i do recommend it for strumming, especially when yiu switch from finger picking to strumming. i have lost a little touch with flat picking when i go back to my electric though.

The only problem I have is ,I put the guitar down 30 years ago..I'm back at it at 64 ..the brain to fingers is very slow. I have been at it for 7 months...the Lord will probably come right when I get it back but I would be happier anyway...it's a lot of fun though and just wanted to let you know...you are doing a great job...Blessings

Matt, I've been watching your videos for the past few hours and I just have to praise God for you! I have to be honest, I've been backslidden for many, many, years, and have dabbled with the guitar for that many years as well. I thought there was no hope for me, I thought I was domed and going to hell, and there was nothing I or anyone could do about it. So, I fell head-long as they say into alcoholism and finally drug addition. I think the only thing that kept me hanging on was the fear of hell; I knew God was real, I had been baptized in his Holly Spirit, and that was something I couldn't deny. Yes, regardless of any experience we may have with God, we can always choose with our free will to walk away from him. And, that's exactly what I did, as a very foolish (stupid) boy at the age of 19. Sorry to ramble on, I just wanted to Praise God for his amazing: "Mercy and Forgiveness and Long-Suffering"! I was Blessed by the guitar instruction and songs, but your love for God and desire to: "Bleed Scripture" as you put it blessed me more. I want to be that in love with God, that I would have such a desire. God Bless You!

Always look at God as a loving father first...when it really clicks how much he loves you (already proven that by the cross) you will look at every single thing different. Every sermon, bible verse, song or whatever it is. It's all about the love of Christ! Praying for ya brother!

Don't focus on the past, keep looking forward. God loves you more than you'll ever know and has a good plan for you. I'm praying for you.

It seems with a capo I’m able to play easier because my fingers don’t have to stretch out as much and the notes won’t buzz, and there’s more control. Is this ok to do until I get better?

I have a question, I am trying to learn to play the guitar, but the problem is my little finger got broke and I have tendon issues where I cant flex my little finger. you can play about everything you want without your pinky...it's going to be a little harder stabilizing the guitar but you can do it!

I’m getting so frustrated with strumming. I literally can’t do it. I have no problem with picking. I can play multiple songs from “finger picking only” versions, but when it comes to strumming I struggle. I learn all the chords needed for a song but never play it if you have to strum.

Hey I am also a slow learner and am almost 4 yrs in and have always feel like strumming is the hardest part to learn something that helped me in the beginning was get rid of the pick and just strum with your finger it made a HUGE difference in my playing and my frustration from kinda fighting to keep the pick hitting the strings to hard or not at all or digging in and not being able to relax , I have added the pick back in when I feel like it now but still find it easier to play without it I can gauge where I’m at So much easier ! So relax and enjoy it the chords will become much easier soon and learn some Riffs on the bass lines so it feels like you are getting musical with it and you’ll be having fun before long ! ❤️🎸🎶🎤🇺🇸♥️
