I'm glad someone talked about how the other villians should have had more plot significance. This really should have been a true Arkham World. Batman vs every single person in his rouges gallery. There could be so much fun opportunities there. Have Scarecrow hating Croc for disfiguring his face, maybe Riddler will be annoyed at everyone talking about Joker and not focusing on him. So much missed opportunities.

Biggest flaw for me was how Jason Todd was a big villain in this game when you never got to hear anything about him in previous games. When I first played Arkham knight I didn’t know who Jason Todd was at allso when the character is written in out of nowhere I wasn’t emotional connected to the character. However after watching under the red hood I like Jason now but they butchered his character a little bit because the joker is dead so jason shouldn’t be that angry at Batman. In under the red hood the whole point of that was batman let the joker live. Also didn’t like how scarecrow felt like a different character from asylum, plus he should be getting revenge on killer croc and not batman.

In the arkhamverse Red Hood’s motivation isn’t “I’m mad cuz you didn’t kill joker even after he killed me” he’s mad the Batman didn’t look for him and replaced him so soon. He has a completely different motivation in the arkhamverse lmao
@AkkiBot Жыл бұрын
I understand how it’s awkward Jason was just thrown into the Arkham trilogy, but I feel like a good amount of the audience knew him as the DC character from comics or wherever it may be before the game. It’s not that people don’t know the character it’s that he didn’t seem to really belong in his role in knight.

@@SHEVCHENKOFAN18not directly though. The Asylum reference is just Joker teasing Batman that he’s in need of a new sidekick. To be honest, I was so disappointed of the complete lack of Fear Toxin scenes. I loved them in Asylum. We could have very interesting Fear Toxin scenes about Batman's fears and failures from previous games. The Arkham Knight just used Fear Toxin to reintroduce Joker and the closest thing to Fear Toxin scenes we had three DLC tracks exclusively for PS4.
@SoyboyPeter Жыл бұрын
Well scarecrow is using a much stronger version of fear toxin in Arkham knight. Hallucination joker is a manifestation of Batman’s fear of breaking his no murder rule. Basically he’s afraid of becoming the joker.
@RacingSnails64 Жыл бұрын
Technically the entire game is a fear toxin scene lol, with the Joker hallucinations. There's some stuff like the diner intro, Joker shooting Barbara, the Jason Todd flashbacks... But you are right that they never get as fantastical/worldbending as Asylum's scenes. Asylum definitely has the leg up there.
@TristenSarelvun Жыл бұрын
@@RacingSnails64 Tbh I think the flashbacks, Barbara shooting, and stuff like that makes _more_ sense than... a bunch of floating islands in a void. That doesn't sound like someone's fear or Scarecrow's deal at all; I honestly think it better fits Mad Hatter's world, like in Arkham Origins. Scarecrow's thing is breaking peoples' psyche using their own insecurities and fears. Floating platforms, while fun gameplay segments, don't fit that for most people, much less for someone like Batman who spends his free time jumping rooftops and wing gliding. That's also why Barbara's death isn't a plot hole. Scarecrow made Batman fear for her life by endangering her and reminding him of the previous times his family had been harmed, then planted her wheelchair and a gun in the room, or something along those lines. Even if Scarecrow didn't know exactly what Batman was seeing, he had set up the entire situation to make Batman see her death. You can make people fear things like that even without chemicals and gasses. It's exactly the kind of thing a fear-obsessed psychologist could do.

I am going to push back a bit on the whole "how did scarecrow know what batman was seeing" thing. People seem to think that batman walked into the Chinatown building, saw Barbara, and scarecrow magically knew what batman saw. That's not what happened. Who do you think put Barbara's wheelchair in the chamber? Who went out of their way to imply the presence of Barbara? Batman was manipulated by scarecrow into seeing Barbara off herself. Think about it. He put the wheelchair there to make a Batman who is seeing fear toxin induced hallucinations to see Barbara. Then he started pretending to egg Barbara on, as though she were actually in the room. He didn't just know what batman was seeing. He caused him to see it. Scarecrow at this point has been perfecting his formula for years, and is essentially the master of fear toxin. It's not that much of a stretch for someone who makes a drug that influences a human's psychology to know a thing or two about human psychology.

I played this game in 2015 and didn’t know who the Arkham Knight would be. In fact, due to Jason Todd appearing in so many hallucinations earlier in the game, I thought his face was another of those hallucinations at first. However, I was unfamiliar with the story of the Red Hood. Based on the backlash I have heard about _Arkham Knight_ since then, I imagine most players and Batman fans knew the story, and that the ending was predictable mainly for them (and possibly people with a good knowledge of scriptwriting).

I agree with some parts of this, and disagree with others. I definitely disagree that Red Hood/Jason Todd "shouldn't exist", but I'll refrain from going into detail on that and instead argue some other points: 1) I don't really think your claim that Joker is a man and not an idea doesn't quite work for me. Yes, he is objectively a human man. But I think he's also an idea. Those two things aren't mutually exclusive. Batman and Superman (among others), are often talked about in-universe and out as being symbols and ideas as well as individuals. That's part of why Bruce Wayne and Kal-El aren't the only Batman and Superman: both mantles have been held by many other characters, precisely because Batman and Superman are ideas and not JUST people. I think Joker can be viewed in the same way. So to say it's incorrect to view the Joker as an idea and not as a man doesn't ring true to me. And it's not as though this game is the only thing that has gone the route of depicting the Joker as an idea that can infect people like a virus and turn them into nihilistic monsters like him. Heck, I'd argue that was effectively Joker's big plan in The Dark Knight: to make Gotham's people like him (or else show that they were secretly like him all along). Finally, the Joker movie also goes with the idea, since Arthur Fleck's actions inspire legions of people to become wannabe Jokers and rally around him. 2) I think Harley's obsession with the Joker wannabes is consistent with her character up to that point. Remember that Arkham City's DLC makes it clear that the Joker's death has caused her to go even crazier than before. So it makes sense to me that an even more deranged Harley who never got over losing Joker would try desperately to find a replacement for him anywhere she can. People who try to "replace" a lost loved one with someone who reminds them of the original person isn't unbelievable to me, and again, this is a Harley who was already established as having gone completely nuts. So I don't really see it as "character assassination". Truth be told, I tend to prefer Harley as a villain than as an Anti-Hero, and I kind of like that the Arkham games actually kept her as the former instead of trying to make her the latter.

I wanna say the whole joker blood plot line makes no sense at all because in Arkham city we’re told it’s killing Batman and the joker and we see no effects of the becoming of the joker in the game, and we see that it takes literally one night for someone to go from healthy to almost dead but that also doesn’t make sense either because joker survived for months and does that also imply all the other people died because of the Titan formula or just him? Even if you bring up blood types, joker had gave so many people titans so it’s likely someone with his same blood type had got infected. I would also like to point out in Harley Quinn’s revenge, Batman had been active for months without anything happening to him.

Have Scarecrow not by the villain that United the villains but a very important part of the story with a boss fight as the Scarebeast. Have more expansive DLC packs for Nightwing, Robin, Harley, and Jason. Let them be free roam and have more missions and improved development. Have Harley gotten over the Jokers death by the story of the main game and give her the Gotham City Sirens bar or something. Guys… so at my house, I’m responsible for throwing out the trash, but one day, I was having too much fun playing Batman Arkham Asylum that I forgot to take out the trash. So by the time I was taking it out, it was already night time/morning. Basically, it was pitch black outside, with just the faintest light of the moon and the street lamp at the far end of the street. But I had no choice, I either throw the trash now, or I would have to get up extra early and throw it before the garbage truck came. So I went out, and under that street lamp, there was a big dog, like a Great Dane or something. And ngl, big dogs scare me, especially when they don’t have an owner in sight, so I half lifted the garbage can’s lid to leave enough space for me to quickly throw the trash, then the lid would close on its own due to gravity. Of course, letting gravity close the lid meant that it was gonna make a heavy loud SLAM sound, which is already nerve racking on its own in the dead of night, but to make matters worse, this slam seemed to scare off that dog I mentioned earlier. But the freaky part was that when it ran away, it didn’t do it like any normal dog. Instead, it stood on its hind legs and ran … like a man… Do any of you guys have any idea what the hell I saw?

There are some corrections I need to make here. First is that the infected patients aren't literally becoming the Joker. They are suffering from Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, which is a disease that severely harms the brain. Because of Joker's unique blood, this form of CJD is mutated beyond any normal medical records, which causes the infected to act similar to the Joker. They each have a different trait of Joker's character. Christina has Joker's obsession with Batman, Johnny has Joker's sense of showmanship, Albert has Joker's persistent fighting habit against Batman and Henry represents the cunning and intelligent side of Joker. None of them are complete copies of Joker. Also, you criticize that nobody notices Batman's strange behavior.....He doesn't really react to Joker at all unless it's in a cutscene, which even then he doesn't say a word. Plus, why are you questioning if Scarecrow knows that Batman hallucinated Barbara dying? He purposefully lured Batman to the penthouse to traumatize him, of course he'll know. I don't get what you're saying here.
@GameDenColor Жыл бұрын
It's just really strange that these people are suffering from a disease and are behaving nearly identical to the joker, suggesting that the Joker's personality and desires are moreso a side effect of an illness than his personality. It makes the Joker feel cheap to me and I don't like it. The big example of Batman's strange behavior I point to in this video is Scarecrow just catching Batman entirely off guard after he attacks a hallucination. Its things like that which don't add up. The Barbara hallucination I'm referring to was obviously part of Scarecrow's plan, but I'm saying how does Scarecrow know exactly what Batman saw? It's not like his toxin has ever been shown to produce exact hallucations that scarecrow directs. Its a fear toxin, not a Barbara fake-out death toxin. Also the fact that Batman didn't try and recover her body was another big plus for Scarecrow, that would've really unraveled that entire plan.

@@GameDenColor (My comment keeps getting deleted I don't know why. I'm so sorry if I'm spamming, hopefully this is the last time I have to type this.) I have to point out that Joker's origins is that he fell into a bath of chemicals. That's how he became Joker, it happened many times in Batman mythos. It happened in Batman 89, Under the Red Hood and The Killing Joke. So what's the problem? Batman could've been under fear toxin when Scarecrow caught him off guard. It's how he's seeing Joker since Ace Chemicals. Plus, Scarecrow says something's different about Batman, which would mean he does notice something. It is actually explained why you can't recover Barbara's body. If you try to get inside the gas chamber, the game tells you there's still fear toxin inside. Batman says "I can't risk being exposed to the toxin" if you try to open the door. (Hopefully, this won't get removed now.)

I mean blood is different than the vat of chemicals but if you want to ignore that here we go. I guess it depends on your interpretation of the Joker. If you think anyone who fell into those chemicals would have the exact same personality as the Joker, I guess your point makes sense. I have never believed that and I think if that is the case it ruins the character. The entire point of the Killing Joke's origin is on how one bad day can break anyone, the fall into the chemicals was the last straw that broke his mind. It's not like the exact same situation would just happen to anyone and have the same exact result. The Joker was born from that man's experiences and outlook mixed with tragedy. Batman was certainly under fear toxin, that's the entire point of the scene. My point is, how does Scarecrow know what Batman hallucinated? Also, I get the game says the room is filled with toxin, but that's Barbara Gordon's body. He'd get a gas mask and recover her corpse, it's just for the "twist" that he doesn't and leaves the body completely unattended in a rioting city for hours.

I’m not going to lie to be honest I’ve never actually seen the point of Robin in general it’s like I’m watching the show Titans right now and it’s like yeah that revolves around Robin and then him becoming Knightwing but I’ve never seen the point of Robin like what like I don’t understand why he was introduced I love the movie Batman and robin from my friends 1999 but in everything else I’ve never seen the point

So much dialogue, if it isn't Wally Wing-nut every thirty seconds, it's Mark Ham-it -up, and his two note overacting. They might have done Robin dirty, but I can't stand Barbara with her condescending tone, and patronizing attitude. The handling on the Batmobile, are the tires made of water? did they build it out of super-light material, is that why it won't stay on the ground? why are APC's twice as fast as me? Finally "stink lines" on hard, I don't need a crutch, because I'm Batman.
