As a big Mr. Freeze fan, I was really disappointed in his side mission here. I don't mind the writers wanting to give him a story without Nora since the origin has become overused, but instead of writing a good story for him, they simply have him wanting to freeze the city like a generic ice villain. None of the side missions seemed to tell a story, and that really disappointed me.

Spider-Man PS4 literally had the exact same “normal people get mind controlled” side mission but it was done properly there. The people under Mr. Negative’s control didn’t partake willingly and Spider-Man does not beat them up and instead just webs them down till the effects can wear off. And Spider-Man feels deeply empathetic for these young people caught in the middle of Mr. Negative’s ongoing criminal activities.

It sounds/seems like they tried their hardest with Clayface even if it doesn’t seem like it was enough, Harley was there for the purpose of having something related to the Joker without having the Joker, and they didn’t give a crap what they did with Mister Freeze or what it did to the Knights as long as they got a mission with spectacle

I have never been more disappointed in any form a media than with Gotham knights. I bought the game at launch and then returned it the same day. This was a ridiculously gigantic step down from arkham knight, a game made over 7 years ago. Than Spiderman for ps4 made over 5 years ago. Even avengers i feel was better than this shit. This game could have came out for the ps3 in 2013. No hate towards peoplr who like this game but i think it should never have even been made and scrapped in the idea phase.

I wish there was more of a theme for each in relation to the heroes' struggle of living without Batman. Harley in particular should have been an example of a character who is copying the Joker's modus operandi after his death and she can't really grow into a unique figure despite her supposed "rebranding". She's basically a sad Joker knockoff (just look at her outfit), and the Knights should see her as a version of what could happen if the heroes don't figure out how to progress through life out of Batman's shadow. Clayface losing his sense of self via his split parts and reenacting past events should be symbolic of negative unhealthy responses to loss. Clayface has literally fallen apart and is unable to pull himself together after Batman left his life, and he dwells on skewed memories of the past to cope. That's basically depression in mutant clay form. Mr. Freeze could have been an example of how the loss of a positive influence and the lack of an independent goal can result in a relapse into bad habits and destructive addictions, in this case an addiction to crime because Batman didn't cure him and Freeze didn't know how to (or want to?) redirect his brilliant mind toward beneficial scientific endeavors. The writing COULD have been there to explore deeper themes of loss and its negative effects, but the writers just didn't put forth the effort.

What we get from Harley about wanting to free the people of Gotham from how clearly fucked up Gotham is is such a good motivation for her too. Wanting to make sure the brainwashing that Joker did to her doesn't happen makes a lot of sense for her. But then they have her do that by brainwashing people?? And they never do anything with the actually interesting thing about her character here. I feel like Harley couldve easily gotten the Penguin treatment and not been a villian. Have her be a contact who will teach you about the different villians you encounter, and while she does that she's becoming a talk show host or something (like in the 2004 animated show) and wanting to help people through a pseudo therapy or something.

I 100% agree about how lame these side missions were when I played Gotham Knights. Which is a shame because, as you said in another video, I went into it with starry eyes thinking about how cool it would be for Batman's protégés to finally set out on their own. Its also equally as boring when you watch the videos about Harley's development. I feel like they had a cool vision for her stepping up to become her own villain and I LOVED her villain costume design! That being said, so much is absent from the game. Mr Freeze just seems to want to make everyone else suffer because Bruce isn't around to make his cure anymore and I guess Clayface is just delusional and wants to put on a show? IDK

Harley is corrupting people with an implant to test the knights ability to protect Gotham, compared to Batman. Very much in her character . Also, Harley didn’t book that event she broke in and the people in the audience were the loyal followers of her cult associated with the freaks. Clay face is trying to create a movie. Robbing and destroying things along the way. The knights can’t ignore that. And Mr. freeze is attempting to cover all of Gotham city in ice so that they feel his pain. He was on a path to being reformed because his wife left him. So he figured he could get her back if he was cured. Batman was helping him with the cure, but because Batman died Mr. freeze felt hopeless.

I tried to play the main missions and side missions as the four different characters but ended up just sticking to using Red Hood since the story cutscenes were much better with him, and he was the only that made the combat encounters tolerable and boss fights much faster to beat. But this game is just flawed or just completely lackluster in every single aspect. I wish they had just made the Damian Wayne Batman game

oh, what he you said about their "tracking system" reminds me of a video about that lousy Flash TV show, and how dumb it is. for the first half of the season, they are using a fancy satellite system to try to track down a villain who can jump into a pocket dimension and come back out ANYWHERE. BUT, half-way through the season they COMPLETELY FORGET ABOUT IT and start depending on INTERNET BLOG ENTRIES FROM RANDOM CIVILIANS to figure out where he will strike next! oh, and the villains actual plan was absurdly complex, he COULD have just carried it out in the FIRST episode of the season, just after he knocked Flash unconscious, but instead he just DROPPED him, and spent the rest of the season setting up his absurdly complex trap!

Now that you mention it the side villains were pretty bad.... Okay they do need to be redone and I know just how to do it! Read below 👇 Harley Quinn: The way to fix this is much simpler. Harley after finding out that Batman is dead seized an opportunity to take control of the gangs in gotham city most notably the freaks Which gives the player more reason to go after the freaks In order to get more information on where harley is and what her plans are. As for the Doctor Q thing Harley created an anonymous identity of a health professional that helps people Online and when the rally happens she reveals herself to a stun audience and traps them in there And does the whole mind control chip thing to control them and make her rich patience pay her tons of money so she can fund her criminal activities and increasing her control over the city. That's the only good motive I can give her, To become the next clown princess of crime. Mr Freeze: This is another one that can easily be fixed. After his wife rejected him and left Victor became a much more colder villain and the last time Batman took him down he made a deal with freeze that he would help cure him if he stayed in jail which freeze reluctantly agreed to. However after hearing about Batman's death he decided to take measures into his own hands. Freeze build the freeze generator as a way to freeze Gotham and threatens to Freeze the people to death if they don't pay him a large sum of money for him to leave Gotham so he could work to cure himself. After the Knight defeats him he decides that he's done with life and build the spider mac to go on a rampage to take as many people including the Knight with them. At the end of the battle as the spider robot powers down so is the life support keeping freeze alive. The Knight being the last person that will see him alive laments how far he's fallen and that Nora was the only thing keeping him human and couldn't bear to live without her which was his true motivation all along, he saw himself as a monster and decided to go out as one. Clay Face: Everything can basically stay the same up until the ending boss where clayface reveals that the last time him and Batman fought it was the closest he's ever gotten to killing the Dark Knight and he wishes to relive that moment with the Knight taking the roll of Batman and holding the city's water was just bait to draw them in. So what do you think, much better?

Well there are so many problems with harley's version mission(part of me feels like this should have been a scarecrow 1, but CW contracts shenanigans and says no we have to use Harley instead! Yes I tuned out of The CW Gotham Knights!) seriously replaced computer chips with scarecrow gas and you get the same result! That said just like The CW when they picked the right character you're for a substitute they go all out on making that substitute fantastic it's just everything else written around them is terrible! Yes I actually do like the first season of bat woman it's not the actress 's fault that everyone written around her was terrible written as well as her in some points! Honestly Ruby Rose's ad Lib dialogue is so much better than the script dialogue and you can tell which ones which like the scene that everybody hates from the trailer that one was from the script you can tell! (probably doesn't help matters that the freaks don't feel like that they feel with any of the villains.) [surprisingly they could have also worked with Bane! Making another good side mission that would have been very interesting to have!] As for Victor this version is look I actually admire 'The Batman'(the animated series) for going back to classic Victors back story of being just a diamond thief because at least that one makes more sense of his plan than this one's plan also Arnold did a fantastic job oh playing Mr. Freeze he was the only part that was written accurately, matter of fact this feels like the storyline is cribbing from the Batman and Robin movie without including Poison Ivy and all the other features that actually make that story arc work on the subject of wanting to freeze all of Gotham! And now since I brought that up you're not going to help but keep thinking Oh my God he's right!(Long story short it's Batman and Robin written by The CW writing staff! Right down to the ability that they can't use Batman!) with the exception of one tiny ethics argument that really shouldn't have shown up other than to show off that Jason is a jerk and Richard Grayson due to my computer being funky or else I would make a joke about his proper name, is surprisingly not being one! Then after the surprisingly really good storyline, sorry can have which makes everything terrible proof positive that this was written by The CW staff I promise this will be my last CW joke about how bad the writing is! Before anyone says well Lois this and Superman is written so much better that's because it's not actually written by the staff that said it's not super great either it's just we've got all the melodramatic written stuff being more on the relationships than being on the villains. By the way I am not going to spoil this season but raise if you've already figured out another dramatic twist that's coming up in the season and you were seeing it in episode 2 when the character was introduced! PS: looking forward to your rewrite of all these storylines as well as adding your 4th one, my nomination is still clue master!

The only gripe for the Harley design is I don’t like the gigantic upside down black heart she has. I think one black heart over one eye would’ve been good. Or one black and one red over each eye. Additionally I will continue to say that this game should’ve still been “Batman; Arkham Legacy” with Tim, Red Hood and Damian being the three playable characters. Have Nightwing get a bludhaven spinoff for himself.

As a number 1 Harley quinn fan I hated this harley her design sucked her outfit was okay though but her hair and face sucked, her voice was not good(no hate to the voice actress she did amazing on how she spoke in a way of harley but she just did not sound like harley and i kept hearing mileena as she voices her too. I really like hynden Walch as harley or even kaley Cuoco) and they just changed what made her so fun as a character. If they wanted to do something like this they could have done the jokers daughter which the concept art of harley gave more jokers daughter vibe anyways then harley herself and it would be fresh and new to do her as some people dont know who the jokers daughter is and we have not seen her in a game. But in all honesty this game was not the best. I just hope they can maybe just make a second game and change harley and make her less like the joker especially after all his abuse towards her and make her more like the comics and just add a whole lot more villians.

I agree with pretty much everything. I guess my only complaint or nitpick is that your concern about clayface's mental state after he clearly solidifies at the end. Even with it's problems, I am going to be honest and say that I prefer this clayface ending over his unimpactful death in arkham city. The batman 2004 had a better non-Nora focused Mr freeze even if he was just a thief. For Harley, definitely could've and should've been better, but I'm glad she's not like current anti or sometimes hero modern Harley. I think telltale did a better version of this Harley though.

@@EthanTheDinoNerd Bruce didn't die Sefton Hill confirmed it on Reddit AmA he did a few years back not to mention the dialogue from Bruce "gotham needs a new myth a new legend to protect her a legend I can't be Right now" batman to catwoman after defeating the riddler. Sefton Hill said "he became a more badass batman" without the Bruce Wayne persona holding him back. In the catwoman and Robin dlc the henchmen talk about various thugs disappearing and a "ghost" batman being involved (provided you listen to the dialogue). Why would Bruce kill Alfred? The only correlation is the manor exploding between these 2 games is the manor exploding Tim is too young in Gotham knights Jason started out as the arkham knight before becoming redhood in the arkham series he has J engraved on his face is clear indicator they are not the same and he never died he was tortured for over a year in the arkham series. In Gotham knights he was able to mend his relationship with Bruce. Freeze died with Nora in arkham knight. Ra's Al Ghul had his conclusion in the arkham series. Kirk langstrom died and never became the manbat in Gotham knights in arkham he was the manbat. "The manor exploded it has to be the same universe" the Devs confirmed it's *not* arkham. Another kicker Jim Gordon is dead in Gotham knights. In the arkham games Jim went on to become the mayor of Gotham. Lucius fox runs fox tech in Gotham knights in the arkham universe he runs Wayne enterprises I can go on and on.

Everyone of these characters has their MO laid out in the game. I normally like this channel but this game is nowhere near as bad as people say and these missions are not bad. This is just another example of its fun to hate Gotham Knights because it’s not Arkham. The game is good.

Here is what we know from story boards and content from the game about these two: - Freeze wanted everyone to have the same type of cold "death" he had when Batman died and could no longer provide a cure. So Freeze wanted to take the hope away from Gotham and Freeze it with his weather machine. They should have used Nora in some way here and this version of Freeze is not my favorite but I suppose it works as Freeze being a hopeless villain. - Clayface wanted revenge on Batman and after learning of Batman's death the next best thing was the Knights themselves. Clayface I think is actually a better one because his whole thing is now he lost his identity after his last encounter with Batman. He was going to make a movie showing how Batman "killed" him but the Knights stopped him. So after this it is clear that Clayface wanted revenge on the Knights for runinig his movie and because they are the next best thing to Batman if Clayface believed Batman was actually dead.
