Fixing the Joker Boss Fight: This happens instead

I rewrite Batman: Arkham Asylum's ending, the final boss fight with The Joker. The original ending didn't feel right so this is how I'd tweak things r to make the Joker fight more fun and in line with the themes of this story. The cut version of jokers boss fight actually seemed terrifying because it was more stealth focused and joker was able to hide on the advantage points, I really wish that they went with this fight.

Completely original idea: The joker turns out to be clayface and you fight clayface with a sword and you freeze him and joker reveals him self but trips on a henchmen snapping his neck I think this original idea would make a great ending and be a great final boss fight

Here’s how I would have done the boss Phase One: Something like what we got with the thugs and two Titan thugs, only difference is Joker is also firing at you with his gun and chattering teeth bombs. When he shoots himself, his flower lapel goes off and sprays Batman. Phase 2: Rather than go straight to Titan joker, Fear Gas hallucination only instead of Joker’s full body eyeing you and looking for you, it’s a giant Joker head attached to a Jack in the Box . Thugs sent your way are duplicates of Jokers and Arkham Guards laughing. This way, we allow suspense and dread to build, the reveal of what Titan joker would look like a mystery. Reach the Bat Signal and you get tackled in the real world by Titan Joker Phase Three: Titan Joker is a mess. He’s not a beefed up Mohawk brute. He’s skinny, dangerously so…his teeth are long and nails long claws. His hair is much spikier, almost like a green crown on his head. He’s barefoot, shirt ripped and his purple tailcoat is tattered and torn, blowing in the wind. And he’s out for blood. He attacks not like a Titan thug but like a Arkham Lunatic. Laughing and tackling you, claws slashing at you.

I think this is one of, if not the best idea I've seen. I love the wacky, Joker elements in the hallucination, the idea of keeping Titan Joker's real form hidden initially, which is more grotesque and dilapidated and who attacks ferally like the lunatic. So we also have a "callback" not just to the past bosses, but to one of the enemy times we faced. I have the same idea for Titan Joker's design, I think it makes more fitting for the character and an embrace the madness, cerebral final boss to have him be thin but exaggeratedly inhuman and again, grotesque version of himself. It'd be even neat if they carried that design to that reality's version of Arkham City to highlight how fantastically sickly he looks.

The Laughing gas/ titan/ fear toxin is fun idea, but would need to be incorporated in the plot and his grand plan a bit more. Like he anticipated Scarecrow to infect the water supply of Gotham to add to the chaos when his titan army was let loose. The idea of Jokers hallucination of the asylum could really sell the mad house angle if the backgrounds featured alot of the environmental riddles from the rest of his rouges gallery. While Oracle, and Robin don't have models in game, (and it would feel like kind of a waste to only include them for the last segment) having the villians skin over other enemies in the final part if the fight could serve as a fun final culmination of everyone you've stopped. An insane patient looking like Scarecrow, Killer Croc and Bane replacing titans, etc. Only question is what Joker was doing while Batman was hallucinating

Honestly joker is also hallucinating, simply because he got impatient and decided to jump into the fun...but now he sees crane as batman and so in thr background there's just joker beating the shit out if scarecrow

​@@garpogods8323 I like the idea of a hallucination of the Asylum especially because in retrospect, I wished the game's overall visuals were more trippy and surreal like the comic it's based on. So I also think it'd be cool, if Batman hallucinating involved him running around different parts of the Asylum with a similar artstyle to the graphic novel.

My theory as to why joker didnt lose his mind on titan is because he kinda sorta perfected the formula at least enough to keep his mind i guess

I think for me it’s disappointing cause it doesn’t feel like a boss, but more so closer to a regular enemy gauntlet with small unique gimmicks added to make it slightly different than gauntlets

For this video I recorded it on a usb drive on my Xbox One, nowadays I just record straight on the PS5 with their built in screen capture which is a much smoother process. And I've never had any issues with gameplay. Movies, TV, Music, etc I've had issues in the past, but never gameplay. Hope that helps :)

I dont like Big Joker at all it’s a bit to overwhelming for an ending and it’s just not joker to do this. That part make Batman Arkham asylum my least favorite in the series. I would rather wish Batman could grapple down joker from the shair on the previous room, and knock him out and there we have the end. We didn’t really need a final boss because The poison ivy boss fight was very recent. And I think that fight was a lot harder. In the joker fight I never died once. I know that the sequel game have the blood plot for joker but the could figure another way it happened I think It feels like the game didn’t have more money or time to finish the story so they just threw in a fast easy ending. It’s still a great game but it was a bit anticlimactic.

Being able to defeat Joker in 2 seconds after a final 2 titans would suck even more ass than the OG fight. Joker is built up as a major threat throughout the entire game, for you to be able to just pull him down and knock him out would be so bad. Not to mention, the Titan fights themselves aren't very fun imo. A grand finale of 2 more fucking titans would be so bad, there's already like 5 titans in the game (bane included because it's the same fucking thing)

I'd still wish for a final Joker boss fight but I'd prefer if didn't have anything to do with Titan Joker personally too. I think it being something more cerebral could've been conducive to a better story & ending.

I’m going to be controversial and say I don’t hate this boss fight. Titan is one of the main recurring threads of the game. Many Titan Fuelled enemies show up, even the two boss fights (no, Killer Croc and Scarecrow are not boss fights) are Titan enhanced characters (Poison Ivy is powered by by Titan to allow her to grow those gigantic plants), so it makes perfect sense for the final fight to be against an even bigger and badder Titan fuelled enemy. And that has to be the Joker. This is not defending the implementation of this idea. The mechanics themselves in the fight are just bad, more akin to a first boss than a final boss. But the concept is acceptable to me. Frankly all the boss fights in this game are bad.
