I served with a guy who had a huge Rottweiler and he invited me over once and I was afraid to go in. Once I got in the house, this big ass dog plopped on my lap and just wanted me to pet it the whole time. It wouldn't move when I was trying to leave and his owner had to drag it off me just so I could stand up.

I've had Rottweilers for thirty five years. My latest pup Tintin five months old is lying on his back at my feet. Excellent advice you have given. Must stress owners have to be extremely FIRM in handling these dogs. Any sign of weakness and the Rott will try to be boss! Especially true in the males. Make sure your head of the pack! Simply an outstanding breed. I love them!

I raised two mixed breed rescue dog female Rottweiler puppies. Toccata was part Rottweiler part German shepherd who grew to 100 pounds. Her best friend Fugue was part Rottweiler and part Saint Bernard wh grew to 180 pounds. They were the best of friends and were the most fun loving gentle, affectionate, playful and stupid dogs you would ever want. I did all of the things your suggested. Toccata was so stupid she flunked puppy kindergarten and had to go a second time. I enclosed one acre of my three acre property with an invisible fence so they could roam outside and play whenever they wanted to. At least they learned the boundaries. I had a problem with Toccata when she was a puppy. (She was a remarkable dog unlike any other animal I'd ever seen, utterly fearless.) She'd constantly bite me on my arms. I scolded her. The trainer suggested putting lemon juice on them. Before I knew it she was rolling lemons all over the house. Then she said Binaca Blast. She loved that. Then hot Tabasco sauce. She loved that the most. As her teeth grew in and her jaws got stronger my arms got bloodier and bloodier. She also started jumping on me. I give her my knee. I'd roll up a newspaper and make a loud noise. Nothing. Then one day she just came out of nowhere and bit me. I did something I never thought I'd do, I spanked her behind. That became her favorite game, I bite you and see if you can catch me and spank me. And then one day suddenly it all stopped. I'm the only one either one ever bit. I loved those two dogs. People used to come from all over to play with them outside, even the police came to play with them. They loved everyone and everything. I cried so hard when each of them died. At least they had the best life I could give them.

I have a Rottweiler and a German shepherd. Dont tie or chain them up. Our dogs go everywhere with us. They are very sweet but can and only will turn vicious if anyone is a danger to us. And dont feed them a bunch of junk you eat. Keep them on healthy diets and they will live longer.

You can still feed them dog biscuits/kibble or whatever, what we do is give them bones after eating their daily serving of dog biscuits as dessert. Also feed them leftovers or anythign you can’t finish, mix it in with their dinner

Question for Rottweiler owners: what do you do to keep them entertained? Or like, is there a “job” you give them?
@markjanfrancisco5156 Жыл бұрын
What home owners insurance except the Rotties? Cause I had called few different companies to insure a Rottie and they all said too me ABSOLUTELY Not! They said there to dangerous to people they also said to me NO breed that’s aggressive they mentioned Pits,German shepherd,Dobe or any large breed that has a meanness to them. Then 1 of the companies said if we get word that someone has a dog like this we will drop them instantly.

I've always loved rottweilers and that's the reason I want one so bad but is it a big problem if I've never had any dog before but I have taken care of some for like a day or 2 from family and friends? Like will it be really difficult for me to handle it as a first dog? And can they live in small places for example in a van or is that to small for them? Thx for this video it will probably help me a lot with all of these tips!

If you are going for a Rottweiler I would advice you to get a female first. I have grown up with Rottweilers and German Shepherds and my new pupp at 16 weeks is by far the smartest but he is trying hard to be the boss already. You need to have strict rules. Extremely important. Take a puppy course and sosialize early and you will be fine. Good luck and god bless.

Most dogs are not suitable for living out of a van. If you are determined, get an older dog that will have less excess energy

Is it wrong to clip their tales??
@Rottys38 ай бұрын
YES. I’ve let the majority of my Rottys have their tale. I’ve never seen the need to mutilate my dogs. The only ones that have been docked were older ones that I rescued.
