Well done, Arielle! That jacket is gorgeous!!!! And wow, you look stunning in it.... The trick with any wweight loss program, is how to adapt your lifestyle, in order to maintain your weight at goal. (I am sure you know this already) At my own age (73), I have found that intermittent fasting works really well, and then I walk briskly for 30 minutes per day (our village is just the most lovely huge garden!) as well as chair Pilates daily. (about 10 mins per day) At my age, the trick is to maintain mobility and balance, and not strain muscles and tendons! My weight is lowering very slowly, but I see this as a bonus now - my goal is to maintain fitness and mobility. But - well done, you!!!!

Well done, Arielle! Keep it up. Trust me, later in life you will be so happy that you stayed focused on healthy eating and exercise. Movement is especially important. Unfortunately, I didn't do a good job of this and I am now paying the price with health and mobility issues. Sadly, one of the consequences of these health issues is that I am no longer able to travel to Paris. Happily, your content brings a little of Paris to me! Thank you.

U inspired me to start my own weight loss journey. I’m 3 weeks in & I’ve lost 16 lbs. I’m eating high protein low fat low carb only lean meats, veggies, eggs, nuts, & salads. So very strict diet since I have a lot more weight to loose than u. I am missing my carbs but I have no self control when it comes to carbs. That’s my downfall so I just cut them out almost completely. I hope u will continue to keep posting ur weight loss journey. I’m really enjoying it. Thank you & congrats on all ur hard work. U look great!

WOW!................you are doing GREAT! Dont beat yourself up for slipping up on a snack or meal, just keep in mind that you will go back to your moderation in eating. I've always practiced moderation, people will mention that that I don't have much food on my plate. I usually say, if I feel like I need more, I will go get more. Usually, I don't. Keep up the good work! Don't be discouraged if you slow down on your weight loss, it's perfectly normal.

You are inspiring me to do even better! We have been losing weight, my husband has lost over 70 pounds and myself about 20. I cannot figure out how men lose it quicker. We eat in moderation, when we feel just right we stop eating even if food left on the plate. He also has a sweet now and then, I am not doing sweets and makes me feel so much better. You are doing an awesome job!!

Men usually have more muscle mass and are usually taller which means most men burn more even at rest. Whereas women naturally (usually) have more body fat and usually are shorter, which means we usually burn less at rest. There’s obviously more to it, but that’s usually it. So focusing on mixing in weightlifting, cardio (but make sure to do it either on a different day than weightlifting to do it after), and increasing protein by eating about 1g of protein per pound of body weight.

You can’t create muscle in a calorie deficit actually. It’s not physically possible. If she does consistent strength training the most she can do is maintain as much muscle as possible

@@mmcs4973 it’s physiologically impossible to build muscle in a calorie deficit even if those calories are all from protein. At best she could maintain what muscle she has and in a deficit that’s highly unlikely.

Ariel, remember that it isn't just numbers on the scale that count. How do your clothes fit? Every ten pounds is a clothes size you are losing. And you're building muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat. Great job, girl!

Congrats! I know it’s not always easy. I changed my diet a week and a half ago and I’ve lost 3.5 pounds! I think the most important thing was increasing my protein, watching my calorie intake, and paying more attention to serving sizes. I use the Calory app and it’s helped a lot. The protein and fiber really helps you stay full as well as drinking more water. And a sweet treat is okay every now and then! KZbin is your best friend for finding healthy alternatives to foods you love. I can now make a healthy pizza that truly tastes like REAL pizza and it’s high protein and lower carbs. 350-450 calories for the entire pizza depending on the toppings!

@@tinamontevecchi223 Preheat oven at 350 degrees. Get 4 egg whites (not from a carton of egg whites, it has to come straight from the eggs). Blend the egg whites with an electric mixer for about 3 minutes. Add 2 teaspoons of arrowroot powder/flour and whatever seasonings you like (this is for the crust). Mix again for another 2-3 minutes. Get a round pan, add parchment paper, and spray the paper with olive oil or avocado oil spray (it can still stick without). Scoop out the mixture and shape it into an even circle. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Take it out and add sauce and whatever toppings you want. Bake for another 6-8 minutes. Enjoy!

Great job! It's been fun to watch your journey. It's kind of funny to me though that you don't consider what you're doing to be extreme dieting - if I'm weighing everything I'm eating and working out six times a week that is definitely extreme for me lol. But I guess what you mean is that you're not starving yourself. Regarding the time and energy it takes for the meal planning and grocery shopping, have you ever considered using meal kits (like Hello Fresh or Quitoque)? I use them and it really really helps not only with time and energy, but with portion control since you can't just make as much as you want (although I do almost always add extra veggies to bulk them out).

Scale weight isn't a perfect metric and you seem really fixated on that number, and "losing weight". You were visibly deflated when you'd only lost half a pound. Measuring yourself with a measuring tape would be good to add into your check-ins, because you might be staying the same weight but losing inches as you lose fat and gain muscle. The changes are showing even if the scale doesn't say so.

Can we stop normalizing these so called BMI charts that are not inclusive to women of colour or women in general… for example if you were to sit at the bmi and wt standards for your body type and structure you wouldn’t be at the correct weight. The bmi charts do not include different body structures and types in women! If you want to lose weight great but don’t worry to much about the charts!
