I respect your honesty. I remember back in the early 00s there was a ton of people (mostly MJ fans) that actually hated Kobe because he "copied MJ" (which is kinda ironic, because if you're a fan of MJ's game, I think seeing someone copying should be awesome, but maybe that's just me). This is even before the Colorado stuff which obviously brought even more haters (including the media). Nowadays, I'd say "most" MJ fans are big Kobe fans, which I think is just the natural order because of what I said before. I really can't understand someone saying he's a fan of MJ but not of Kobe, considering their games and even approach were obviously very similar. Unless of course you're more of a fan of the person or their brand rather than their game. I was born in 1990, and like pretty much any kid my age, MJ was the guy who opened the basketball door for me. He made me love the game, but because I was too young, I really only enjoyed the last 2 MJ rings, and then the guy who I first followed from start to finish was Kobe. He became MY GOAT. But above all, I love both MJ and Kobe, I love their style, and whenever I see even glimpses of that in other players, I celebrate it. About Kobe as a passer, at times, maybe... but I do think he's not as selfish as people think he is. The years when Kobe really shot a ton where those horrible years for L.A. And sure, it may not be the popular thing to say, but I'd rather have Kobe shooting a ton than having Smush or Kwame taking charge of the offense. When the Lakers got Payton and Malone, Kobe's shot attempts took quite a dip, and when Pau came to L.A. they also went down. He's just the kind of guy who will evaluate if it's worth passing you the ball or not over analyzing if it's the correct play on paper. He was wrong at times of course, but he was actually a fairly willing passer when he really had guys to pass to. He was also much less ball dominant than many of the more recent NBA stars (even if they rack up more assists). Still sad about his passing, he was also a great guy to listen to. I was really excited to see his post-career, which was amazing for the few years it lasted... but man, it should've lasted for many decades.

Lebron has better career FG percentage. Better career 3 point percentage. Lebron career averages, points, assists, rebounds, steals and blocks PER GAME are better. Lebron for 8 consecutive seasons averaged more points, assists, rebounds, steals and blocks all 5 categories than his second best playerS, Miami and Cleveland. Lebron for 8 consecutive seasons averaged more 4 out of 5 categories than his third best playerS, Miami and Cleveland. Lebron in one of his rings in the finals series had more points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks all 5 categories than any player in his entire team and the entire GSW team, first and only player to do that. Why people say Lebron doesn't have the killer instinct? Shaq was a huge part of Kobe's rings and when I say a huge part I mean, Shaq was the best player in one of Kobe's rings and not only in the Lakers team, but Shaq was the best player in the entire NBA.

That 1996 NBA Draft is considered to be one of the greatest of all-time with four Hall of Famers in Kobe Bryant, Allen Iverson, Ray Allen and Steve Nash. There were also multiple All-Stars with the likes of Peja Stojakovic, Jermaine O’Neal, Stephon Marbury and Antoine Walker along with some excellent role players such as former Defensive Player of the Year Marcus Camby and five-time NBA Champion Derek Fisher. Bryant rose to the top of the group because of his much-talked-about work ethic, which helped him win five championships, make the All-NBA first team 11 times and have both of his jersey numbers (8 and 24) retired by the Lakers.

In my humble opinion.... Kobe was insanely gifted and worked hard af to develop and master those gifts... but he truly ascended when he gained the MJ bloodlust for winning, that's what MJ instilled in him, because he was already dead nice... but he didn't have that Mamba in him until MJ took him under the wing

By Kobe’s own admission, he had zero basketball skills. In his first basketball camp he scored zero points the entire summer. But he had a work ethic instilled in him by his parents, to use that experience to get better. Mike gave him inspiration, but he came into the league with that mentality
