So your right and wrong at the same time 😆. The book definitely calls for 10w. However. The brakes on these blow seals in the calipers and leak into the rear end. This happened to my dad's 6080 In the 90s, The Allis dealers in the area started using the same Trans hydraulic fluid you use in the tractor as not to need to replace all your rear end fluid if you blow a caliper.

@lizzymorrisonmusicandfarml5714 😆 I know the feeling. But either way you nailed it lol. I find this out recently when I bought my 6080 it was out of fluid and I filled it up and bleed them. They worked for about a half a day then I started looking for leaks that led me to the calipers and needles to say I found out that Trans hyd and 10w doesn't mix well 🤦♂️. It came out of the rear end like foam. And I had just put new in it. That's when my old man remembered that about his 6080 😆 that information was better late than never I suppose.
