I would bet on that Nick would end up with a Alligator Gar on his Ultra-Light ^,..,^. He has the unlucky luck to get the big ones on his weakest gear but also we all cheer if he managed to land one this way. I never used such light gear back in my fishing days we always said: proper gear and lower the brake to adjust your fun. So you will almost never leave a fish with your tackle behind. But everyone is free to fish the way he/she like. Keep going Nick o/ good luck on your next catch o7

🎣 you should try using those Berkley power bait 3 inch floating trout worms and the color is orange peel with green flakes on them. I do catch a lot of big trout with them. Fantastic catch and great fish too

Used to use 2 and 3 inch crab lures to catch octopus up to 5 kilos from the rocks in Spain. Hooking them sideways was always the way to go.
