650hp Turbo VR6 DonkeyTec Corrado RIPS! (Germany: EP-3)

DonkeyTec Kicks A$$ and a 650hp VR6 Corrado ride along sure helped put that into perspective! After wrapping up a shop tour and an inspiring ride in a CRAZY GAD Motors built SUV, Frank literally slid us straight into another shop tour with our friends at DonkeyTec! Specializing in Volkswagens, these guys really know what they are doing when it comes to the FWD VW and VR6 platforms. While their main course is currently VW/Audi, they are looking to expand their menu out to BMW and Lamborghini’s, neither of which are simple undertakings. Judging by how tame and radical this DonkeyTec turbo VR6 Volkswagen Corrado was, we can’t wait to see what impressive feats these guys accomplish in the future on some seriously badass cars! I own one, the g60 version. It used to be supercharged, but it's turbo now. Well that g60 was a quiet compressor, but also a nightmare!

Pull the pin, count to 60. I had 3 corrado g60s. One got rear ended, one burst into flames and my last one got a 225 1.8t engine to replace the g60.

I had 3 g60s compressors, one of them blew a hole in the hood. I also had two 1.8 8v engines, in the first one two pistons were melted. Now I'm sticking with a 2.1 8v with forged pistons turbo setup, which is somehow reliable.

Unfortunately we didn't get the 2.9l 12v in the states, only the AAA 2.8l. 😮 Just like all the other cool Eurospec long blocks. 😔 Can't go wrong with a boosted VR no matter what displacement. Actually you’re quite wrong. VR6s were originally intended to be N/A diesels so the 12v ones like these have flat top heads, 20 head bolts, and very robust bottom ends. Stock bottom end can handle 500-600hp reliably, and with forged pistons the stock rods have been known to take 700+ even drag racing. Thats part of why they are quite popular for F/I I daily drive a 420whp Corrado

Us Pon. 95 is basic gasoline/petrol(gas), which is same in US but marked differently. An 91 number. 102 is equal to 97 for you americans. 102(97) is difficult to get in my place, highest that you get everywhere is 98(93) which you also should get everywhere. You have chance of getting 98-100(101) in some places

My particular complaint on Volvo: Weak, finicky transmissions, hard to work on and program, it's like they get built by Aliens in a different planet to be driven on Earth, kinda like their weird cousin, SAAB. If I didn't have to worry about money or working on them myself ? HECK, let me have a 2019 LOADED XC90 . . .at the first sign of a hic-up I would trade it for something new and so on and so forth. Nobody likes a MOODY, BITCHY, FINICKY car. I'm not some mechanical Masochist. When I was younger wrenching was a sport, nowadays IS A BOTHER.
