AWD Converted Turbo VR6 Corrado at Wookies in the Woods!

While we were hanging out at Wookies in the Woods (an annual gathering of Volkswagen .:R32 and Golf R enthusiasts from all over the country at the Tail of the Dragon), we came across Danny's VR6 Swapped Corrado. There is no shortage of VR6 swapped cars at Wookies, but when Danny told us he had actually AWD Swapped his car as well, we were really interested. Then he told us he drove all the way from California... 35 HOURS AWAY... We had to grab our cameras and let him tell his story!

Just want to say thank you to the boys at DAP for this video, and the community for all the awesome and flattering comments both here and DMs in IG, I was blown away and really appreciate it. This car was built 99% for me and me alone, but that other 1% of people loving it does mean a hell of a lot!! I’m especially proud to inspire others to take on something challenging and build something special! I could not have built this car without the advice of good friends (you know who you are) and James and the crew at FourSeason Tuning, but ultimately I did build this thing almost 100% myself on Jack stands in my garage, and again, if I can do it anyone can 👊 Thank you again!

The Corrado is one car that VW should bring back. I remember seeing them all over the place when I was a kid. Now the last time I saw one was about 15 years ago. They're such good looking cars!

Too much emphasis on just sheer power now. I prefer driving dynamics as well. You can make a car go fast in a straight line but for me it’s gets old quickly.

That's my dude right there! Amazing build and more amazing human. True Corrado guy too. Went with his Dad to see it on the showroom floor when it was brand new in the early 90's, had one in high school, and now this!

His love for the Corrado obviously shows! I graduated in '91, and there was one guy in our school that had a Corrado. They weren't nearly as common as the GTI's, Fox'es, etc... I loved that car for it's looks and technology. The auto elevating wing was so cool!

I owned a '90 G60 and it's still by far my favorite car ever. This guy is a true Corrado guy, legit awesome build. I have neither the skill or patience to do this so my hats off to this guy. My dream is to own another Corrado at some point and considering the above I want to find one that someone has already done the work on and just enjoy it. Danny, if you ever want to sell let me know!

The Corrado VR6 is my favorite VW. I'm not a VW fan either but I love that car. Wish I could find a clean one up here in Ontario, Canada. I don't even remember the last time I saw one on the road tbh.

I love that car!!! I installed 5k sound system in my buddies back in 1995 . He had the yellow one with G60 engine but I always loved the car. I had MK 1 1983 Jetta . The 92 Jetta GLI and 2014 jetta along with Passat R line I got in May 2017

My third car and second VW was a yellow 1990 G60 Corrado. I had it from 1990 - 1999 I miss it terribly.

I had a blue, 1990 G60 Corrado and I loved it. It was pretty beat up when I got rid of it in 1998. Very underrated car, I had mine pegged at 140 on a deserted highway more than once! Downhill with a tailwind for sure!

Oh I *love* vw corrados! I had a white one, shaved new mint paintwork, a 2.0L 16V 136hp engine. Was'nt fast at all, but with coilovers it was like a gocart. And a 3" exhaust from the manifold all the way back it sounded amazing

It’s basically Kevin’s (brilliantyellowg60) old car in Tornado Red, although his was a synchro Passat rear as Mk4 Haldex units were 2-3 years old at the time and crazy expensive. Great job. Looks excellent!
