Dan your one of the last true old school owner operators that's left I will say you stay equipped with supplies so you can pretty much work on your truck if something happens while on the road, these young pups that are owner operators today couldn't change a light bulb if they had to I know when I was doing heavy haul I was like you . Anymore today I don't see how any owner operators can make money if they have shops fixing or working on there trucks with what shops charge it's ridiculous. I'm retired now but I remember the good days and the hard times but I made a good living at what I did. Take care an stay safe out there. From one veteran to another thanks again for your service. Bearing adjustments play a huge role in tire wear all the way around. For the money you’ve spent on China maypop tires you could’ve bought a set of good tires and still be running um. From the looks of the wear on the drives that’s probably a bushing issue.

Dan Dan the professional flat deck man. It’s a good thing you caught that bulge in your tire. I have had steers blow out on me and it’s not a lot of fun. First trip back after a week off is always hard to do. Yours was off from driving not maintaince work. Truck looks great as usual. Good to get those flamables out from under the sleeper. Easier to replace a storage box and not so easy to repair a bunt out sleeper. Another great video Dan. Have a great and a safe day. Happy trails and happy motoring.

Darn longer wheelbases, spread axles and tire wear. The never ending battle. Not to be a know it all, but maybe a 3 axle alignment for big orange will help. I was amazed after one.

As mentioned I would take it to a reputable alignment shop. Im a retired Peterbilt tech. It looks like air trac suspension on the drives.Tha suspension is notorious for the torque arm bushings wallowing out with age.Then the thrust angle goes out of spec and you will get scuff wearing like you have.

I am so glad you caught that steer tire Dan. I've had a steer tire blowout it's not fun. Had my best luck with Kelly Springfield steer tires usually get about 130,000 out of a pair of steer tires. I sure like to double Conn drive tires.

I’ve had the best steer tire luck with the Firestone FS591 their 295/75R22 16 ply has a 7160 lbs max single tire load rating, they’re an awesome tire I can usually get around 150k out of a set.

Tires are kind of hit and miss now. Many aren't round. We had trouble keeping Michelins balanced until we started using Equal balancing powder and the front tires lasted much longer. Keeping axles in alignment is also problematic and many rims aren't true.

Usually when the inside tire is wearing like that you could have loose bearing.

The tire went bad because you changed the direction the tire was traveling. You took the left front off and put that tire on the right front and the right front to the left front. Changing direction the tires were traveling. Radial tires go bad when you change the direction of travel.

i've seen double coin tyres on road trucks with good results compared to name brand tyres (mitchelin,dunlop,bridgestone etc) ......also seen them on mining trucks with terrible results, 1/3 the tyre life of any of the name brand tyres under the same conditions

Your a brave guy, all my trucks only had tires made in the USA for steers, I would never trust a tire made in china or Thailand on the front, rears sure, because if a rear blows out no big deal, but a front that’s a different story
