That's exactly why I'm here. As a guitar player, I see the notation he put, and it's all pretty much just hit the bass and snare as fast as humanly possible lol, I understand it, but on paper it all looks the same😂

I like how one of the things that connects the Dirk blast and the Hoglan blast, is that Gene and Dirk both played for Devin Townsend on some of his heaviest records.

What about the Mortician blast beat? When I heard Mortician's albums, I was blown away by how insanely fast the blast beat was. Then I found out it was a drum machine...until I saw a Mortician concert. Holy shit...I was double amazed by the fact they found a drummer that could throw down such crazy blast beats at superhuman speed.

The traditional always sounds the best to me and has the most groove of all of them imo. Another one would be the Chris Pennie septuplet accented blasts like in the dillinger escape plan song Panasonic youth or any Dillinger song
